Slavery was never about owning a person. It’s about owning the fruits of their labor. #Bitcoin fixes this.

As a general rule

You can do fast for policy changes, but for consensus changes you really want to turn on thinking

Imagine being so blinded by your hatred for dickbutts that you’re willing to shank your one shot at immutable p2p money by freezing people’s utxos. Down immeasurably.

The Cat’s been ‘fixed’ before these low energy plebs could even muster a client. If you persist in trying to control what other people do with their money, you will be chasing your tail forever. teapawt.org/ClioBitcoinBank/status…

Sure, ownership isn’t done on chain; so this doesn’t break incentives the way you think. All they need is a snapshot of ord to keep right on trucking; but you already know this. Also makes higher value ordinals more ‘scarce’. BIP does all of this at the expense of immutability.

Could never recommend a node from a company that thinks freezing utxos is “deceptively clever”. Implementing this bip would be far more ‘devastating’ to bitcoin than it would be to spammers. Fence sitting by calling this interesting, clever, etc. is a giant red flag imho.
Best not to over simplify things. This proposal is deceptively clever, both technically and politically. You don't have to like something to find it interesting and want to examine it. Since when did thinking become so taboo? And you cant deny it would be devastating to spammers. That said, we will not be supporting using the Cat to freeze Stamp and Ordinal UTXOs.

The ‘incentive’ for storing jpegs is that you get to run bitcoin and be your own bank. If that’s not enough of an incentive for you, then don’t run a node. You cannot run a full node without storing jpegs. Knotzis know this, they just don’t want to admit it.

The only revisionist history here is Chris forgetting the fact that fees killed these things, and insisting they simply ‘went away because bitcoiners were hostile to them’. There’s a very strong argument for that ‘hostility’ actually doing more to market them than anything.

Fair use covers parody, criticism, teaching, research and news reporting. Not shilling. Our Government should not be generating and disseminating AI images, but they sure as hell shouldn’t be doing it to violate copyright for sake of promotion financial products. It’s not only gross, but the copyright holder has a very strong legal case here.

If your lettuce hands can’t come to grips with what bitcoin’s risk profile always was, or you think changing a default setting in a reference client fundamentally alters that risk profile, then you never had the stomach for it or understood your investment. Keep shakin’ em out.
I'll hodl on, but until serious action is taken to deal with spam loving developers, I'm done buying more Core coins and orange pilling no coiners. Diversifying into gold like Tether has, is probably a smarter move than risking it all on Core's uncensorable csam chain🤗

If you got here in the last 5 years and you think you’re going to shame people out of running the longest running and most reliable reference client by calling them shitcoiners, the next 5 years are gonna be rough for you.

Bitcoin isn't decentralized as long as Core software controls 80% of the network

Majorian’s crux of the week. Brought to you by Pleb Slop University.
The average bitcoin user needs to be able to run a node, this is the crux of the 'Knots/BIP 444' position. Throw whatever you have heard about 'EcOnOmIc NoDeS' out the window. Bitcoin sovereignty means you can use your own node to interface directly with the network.
