I texted my children that we got the puppy they’ve been begging me for and sent them a link with pictures. 🐶When they clicked on the link, it took them to a webpage that said YOU’RE GROUNDED. They’ll be spending the weekend retaking our family’s cybersecurity training course.

I saw somebody complain that Misiorowski hasn't been giving the Brewers "length" this postseason. Like c'mon man. 5 IP and 1 ER will play any day of the week, especially with that monster bullpen.
Jacob Misiorowski had the best executed outing of the day yesterday, a 125 proPitching+ across 5.0 innings with 1 run allowed on 4 hits and 3 strikeouts. Nick Martinez graded next at 115, with 5.0 IP, 2 ER and 5 K.

So happy to see old friend Steven Matz pitching in Game One of the World Series. Hometown boy made good.

The Brewers are so good that Chad Patrick, a dude with a 3.40 ERA/1.7 WAR year both starting and pitching out of the bullpen, couldn't even make it as the last guy on the roster. Tough luck for Chad, who helped the team get there. But so cool to see Brandon Woodruff back.
Brandon Woodruff is on the Brewers playoff roster. Buckle up.

Five months to Spring Training. Awesome video.
Jacob Misiorowski’s fastball in an empty ball park sounds like a gunshot 🎥joezmcfly #thisismycrew

Maddux was great but starting at about 0:25 in this video, Maddux got six comebackers/grounders on fastballs down the middle that Junior Caminero would send into orbit.
Greg Maddux did a little bit of everything in Game 2 of the 1996 World Series. He threw eight shutout innings against the Yankees, recorded two putouts and six assists in the field, and struck out two. The strikeout total wasn't huge because it didn't need to be. This was Maddux controlling a World Series game with command, contact and defense all at once.

A lot of the people in the replies yelling at me --- you do not like Maddux the way that I did. Despite being an all time Mets foe, he was one of the coolest dudes to watch work. That said, this clip shows some pathetic Yankee at-bats.

Nice call, Tieran. #HeAlreadyKnew
Jacob Misiorowski has ridiculous FB spin and touches 100 MPH. 7' extension. 5.2' RelHeight with 15" IVB and if he can improve spin efficiency then wow. He was averaging 92 with his slider that has sweeper traits in May. Only two pitches and bad control but he's a Brewer so Ace.

Jacob Misiorowski had just 76 good innings at Crowder in 2022. No other track record. 5.33 BB/9. Yet the Brewers drafted him in the Second Round. What was Stearns cooking here. Amazing.

Bichette ended up at 1.9 WAR.
Bichette is a 120-130 wRC+ guy with big variance because of a lot of contact, no real position on the Mets, and some cliff risk because of the lack of plate discipline. I think he ends up fine, but he could also put up a 2.3 WAR clunker.

In case you need a reminder of how bad the Bo Bichette signing was, he is not even listed on MLBTR's Top 10 Free Agents list this year. He is only listed as an Honorable Mention... and that's in a FA class considered to be one of the weakest in decades. The Mets owe him 2/$84M.

Eleven year anniversary of one of the best days of my Mets fan life. Maybe the best.

Name a player who's remembered for one single play. One moment, and it's the first thing anybody thinks of when they hear his name. Any sport, any era.

Maddux's velocity doesn't look crazy here, but the balls have some real zip on them. Too bad we'll never know his spin rate. I bet he had better-than-average rise and run on the fastballs, which made the changeup & curve more effective.
Greg Maddux in Class A ball in 1985, long before the four straight Cy Young Awards and all the command compilations. The scouting material tied to Dante Bichette makes the footage even better because everybody involved is still trying to become somebody. Hall of Fame careers always look obvious in reverse. Clips like this remind you they once existed in minor league parks with scouting reports and projections.

I'll take the case.
Two Kenosha brothers who paid $1,000 each for a Milwaukee Brewers "Timeless Ticket" more than a decade ago say the team isn't fully honoring the promise that came with it — the chance to sit in the best available seats for a game as big as the World Series. More at the link in o

Random weird fact: as good as he was, Madison Bumgarner never eclipsed more than ten wins in a season after age 26. He had just two "full" years of 30+ starts after that. Just 134 wins in 355 regular season starts. But eight more in just 14 postseason starts.
I've found that there's a decently large group of people who think HOF evaluations do not give enough weight to postseason stats. If you are part of that group, I have this question: Who is the worst regular season player who you think is a deserving HOFer because of the PS?

We must re-establish the train between NYC and the Catskills/Poconos. The rails are already there! The passenger runs continued through the 1960s, and the rails are still used for freight.
How far are you willing to go for your chance at the American Dream? Since the completion of I-80 in the 1970s, generations of New Yorkers have decamped to the Poconos, transforming a cluster of towns & enduring 3hr roundtrip commutes to their jobs in NYC. thecityreporter.nyc/2026/10/…

Let me be clear: if you are mad at Carlos Beltran (HOFer, one of the best postseason hitters of all time, .278/.422/.556 in that postseason, and the only run scored in that game) then you are either (1) an idiot or (2) propagandized. We were so lucky to have him.
#OTD 2006 - In Game 7 of the NLCS at Shea Stadium, Adam Wainwright, on three pitches, strikes out Carlos Beltran looking with the bases loaded, giving the Cardinals a 3-1 victory over the Mets, their 17th pennant in franchise history, and a trip to the World Series to face the Tigers. The New York outfielder, with the best HR ratio (11/81) in postseason history, is frozen by the rookie right-hander's two-out, two-strike incredible curveball. Yadier Molina powers the offense with a two-run home run. 🎤 Mike Shannon #STLCards | @UncleCharlie50

Reyes, Wright, LoDuca, Valentin and Endy Chavez (4th most PA) put up OPSes in the 600s (or worse) in that postseason. Everyone except Beltran and Delgado got chewed up by Jeff f*cking Suppan. You should be mad at Captain Red Ass who did nothing.

I am tired of your Freddy Peralta takes. This is the best sport in the world, just enjoy it.
On August 22nd, Freddy Peralta had the worst qualified ERA in all of baseball. Less than 2 months later, he’s the ALCS MVP and a Rays hero FOREVER! 👏
