Stephen Curry explains how he used gratitude to process being underpaid on his 4 year $44,000,000 deal while winning MVP's and titles early in his career “It’s all intentionality. It sounds so freaking cheesy and cliché because I’m talking about it right now, but this is exactly how I thought.” “I talked to my wife about it right before I signed. I had to tell myself, one, let’s keep perspective here. $44 million for four years.” “More money than my pops ever made in the league. I’d been around the league for 16 years watching my dad play. I knew how far the league had grown from when he played.” “That’s good money. Support my family. Got a lot of security. I just want to be healthy.” “Let’s focus on that, not what you’re leaving on the table or what you could have made. Don’t count anybody else’s money. At the end of the day, when you sign, that’s your decision. You’re going to rock with it.” “I tried to set that foundation for my mindset right then and there. Never renegotiate with myself afterwards. Never second-guess.” “Never come back to that moment like, ‘Oh, I should’ve, could’ve, would’ve.’ Because that’s not how life works.” “I had to be really intentional about it. It sounds so simple and fairytale because it did work out. But I give myself credit that that was the perspective I made sure I had.” “I didn’t want to let anything distract me from what could have been, what I left on the table, or what other situation could have been out there. I was still taken care of. I was still good.”

Dotting i’s and crossing t’s… I’ve been working on a collection of furniture over the past months at my studio on Anguilla. My pieces are sculpture based and the medium of expression is drift wood and cement. Pictured below are a couple of the pieces as they near completion. I don’t know when or if I’ll ever create a collection like this one again and I trust the client and their guest will enjoy it for many years to come. Drift X Cement By Jelani Sasso

Art is important, regardless to how many folks try to trivialize its place amongst us. It is important. It’s more than a print on a tee shirt or a character on our screens, something for us to mock or attempt to continually deny the work of those who dare to create and embrace the challenge and vulnerability that comes with sharing those creations. Art is empowering, it’s a conversation between the artist, their inspiration and medium or mode of presentation which is open to interpretation by those who observe in an attempt to comprehend what the artist intended to convey or just observe. “Frolic” by Jelani Sasso Is a mixed media piece painted on canvas depicting a humpback whale breaching in an abstact ocean. A scene I’ve been fortunate to witness many times over the years just off the islands south east coast. The piece was presented to the the Hon. Minister of MICUHT Mr. Haydn Hughes and #Anguilla Air and Seaport Authority CEO (Ag.) Mr. Kendell Richardson last week for installation in the newly opened ferry terminal located in Blowing Point. It was a beautiful morning and I enjoyed speaking about the inspiration for my art, the importance of collecting and nurturing the local artist and creative community. Hope you are all having a great day/week. 🤎

One must endeavor to travel with purpose and thankfully navigate each day of our existence. Today It was an honor to present “Teach Them How To Fish” to the Premier of #Anguilla the Hon. Dr. Ellis Lorenzo Webster. The Hon. Dr. Webster is from Island Harbour which is one of the villages on the island that is known for fishing. During our short meeting we candidly spoke about the piece, other pieces in the series and some of my interest beyond art. I look forward to catching up with him in the future. I hope you are all having a great day/week. 🤎
