I have read it Bob, and it tells us that @KathrynPorter26 is correct. It says... "Unfortunately, balancing costs are increasing and are predicted to go up from around £2bn a year now to as much as £8bn by 2030. That’s because over 60% of these costs are what we call ‘thermal constraints’. These typically come about when we need to take action to manage high amounts of wind generation in the north because it's unable to reach demand in the south. Put plainly, the cables don’t exist yet. To prevent the existing cables from overheating and catching fire due to excessive current flowing through them, NESO acts to turn down wind output to avoid a power outage.". It's an admission that wind energy creates the grid instability, and that the grid was never designed to cope with diffuse intermittent sources of energy, which requires us to spend billions on additional transmission lines and mitigation infrastructure. The more wind turbines we add, the greater the instability and the more we have to spend on short term grid balancing. The costs of mitigating wind generation, and wind subsidies, dwarf what it would cost to build dispatchable energy generation where energy is actually used.
I recommend reading this from @neso_energy about balancing costs instead of swallowing propaganda from @KathrynPorter26: neso.energy/news/energy-expl…

The left keeps saying the quiet part out loud — the extreme views they accuse Republicans of secretly holding. They act like people who didn’t vote “correctly” deserve to die. That’s the same dehumanization playbook they claim to oppose. You’ve been programmed to believe disagreement justifies elimination. But the side that keeps accusing Republicans of wanting people dead is the one actually expressing it. We never said that. You did.

🇬🇧 The OBR just dropped 200 pages on Healey's first Budget. I read it so you don't have to. Tax is at a record 37.9% of GDP by 2027-28, past the old high of 37.2%. Then it climbs every single year to 38.6%. Frozen thresholds are doing way too much to workers since they get a pay rise, hand more of it over. 1.8x the national minimum wage now classes you as a higher tax rate payer - what the fuck? Borrowing @ £133bn this year. In March they said £115bn. Seven months later it's £18bn worse. And it's higher than March in every year of the forecast because neither the OBR nor treasury has a clue what they’re doing. Debt interest at £39bn in 2019-20. £109bn last year 😩 £160bn by 2031-32 😩😩£15bn of this year's bill is extra bc inflation's pushing up index linked gilts, and we know the uk has a structural inflation problem, partly due to the relationship between treasury and BoE. Headroom is £14.5bn, down from £21.7bn at the last Budget. Keep the fuel duty freeze going and it's £10.2bn. The OBR gives Healey a 56% chance of hitting his OWN FUCKING rule. Debt will peak at 97.3% of GDP, still 95.6% in 2031-32. Five years and it barely moves which is completely against his fiscal demands. How it affects you? Growth 1% next year with gdp per capita basically the same as it has been since 2019 Inflation 3.4% when March said 2%. Zero real pay growth in 2027. Living standards in 2030-31? Just 2% above pre-pandemic. But don't worry. You're getting a £100 council tax rebate. Jesus Christ.

A teenager phoned Pan Am and said someone had stolen his pilot's uniform. Pan Am sent him to its tailor and billed the $289 to its own payroll. His name is Frank Abagnale. He ran away from home at 16 with no job and no money, and says nobody would pay him more than $1.50 an hour. So he told employers he was 26. Then he began writing personal checks on a bank account with nothing in it. Shops took them. The uniform needed an ID card. He bought a model Pan Am plane, softened the decals in water and pressed them onto a blank card. By his own count he flew about 3 million miles and reached 82 countries. Hotels accepted his checks because airlines had agreed to cover crew checks up to $100. He was convicted in France, then Sweden, then the United States, and he served his time. In the video below, you see him explain the uniform call and the decal ID himself, on The Tonight Show, as the studio audience laughs and then applauds. Watch for the line about shopkeepers: "Most people don't realize how gullible the average storekeeper is." Banks later paid him to teach tellers how to spot a bad check. Is hiring a man convicted of passing them smart security, or the wrong lesson?

Watch Democrat Van Jones on CNN blast the ad for Abdul El-Sayed that echos El-Sayed's words that argues that Americans have to set grocery money "aside for killing Palestinians" because of U.S. aid to Israel. Jones: "This is an example of anti-Jewish hate, and it should be taken down immediately. And denounce, and by the way, Abdul should denounce this ad immediately." @ScottJenningsKY adds: "It's economic incoherence wrapped up in anti-Semitism. So it's sort of par for the course. I mean, El-Sayed himself in this campaign has argued we can't have good education in this country because we fund the Iron Dome, which is completely wrong, nuts, economic incoherence. By the way, eggs, like $2.70 a carton, bananas, 40 or 50 cents a pound. It's economic incoherence. It's a lie, but it's all done in service to anti-Semitism. And at the same time, El-Sayed's campaign running ads featuring comments from Tucker Carlson. What is a Jewish Democrat in Michigan supposed to think right now? Why would El-Sayed have to answer these questions? It's a mystery."

♦️WHITE PRIVILEGE♦️ This is how our cotton mills and wool mills made their profits, which afforded them their fine stone-built mansions on the outskirts of mill towns. It was dangerous work, fingers were often lost, eye injuries common, no comfort breaks, no health insurance and no factory nurse. This work was done on empty bellies after a walk to work. Malnutrition was common place and discipline hard. A water barrel with a wooden ladle for dry dusty days as cotton dander filled the choking air. There were no holidays to look forward to, no sick pay, and kids as young as 7 sent to work in the miserable conditions their parents stomached for a lifetime. They didn't play much, they were too knackered for that. A cold hard bed was all they could hope for. Arthritis and joint pains kicked in early as crippled fingers in their middle years struggled with looms. And our MPs talk about reparations for slavery, when every God damned nation was using slaves. White privilege... you disgust me. There should be a plaque of remembrance dedicated to the entire working class! #DawnButlerMP
