Kentucky Basketball goes 3-0 in meaningless exhibition games, while simplifying the offense, showing better than expected defensive performances, and STILL there’s a part of BBN that continue to be extremely negative about the staff, the players, and the future. First off, we as Big Blue Nation need to be better. There’s a line that many fans cannot help but cross when it comes to overtly disrespecting the very team they claim to love when something doesn’t go exactly how they think it should. Criticizing the on court product like an adult should NOT be a hard ask of any fan. Some of the posts I’ve seen are absolutely ridiculous and IF people were really DM’ing players with disrespectful messages, you need to grow up. People have gotten way too comfortable with their anonymous burner accounts and wanting to be as hurtful as possible to PEOPLE on a team they claim to love? What does that accomplish at ALL? We as Kentucky fans CAN do better than this. I promise you guys, this staff, and these players understand what’s on the line more than ANY of us. They know what’ they have to do! Getting back to the gold standard of Kentucky basketball is an OBVIOUS goal throughout the entire team, staff, etc. I also don’t think Kentucky fans understand how big their online presence is, and how visible it is to the active recruits, agents, and PARENTS, of kids they are talking too. It does MATTER in a way. I’m telling you as someone who speaks with these families regularly. I don’t have issues with anyone who wants to criticize the product and the future like an adult either! that’s my entire point!! Kentucky as a fanbase is obviously so massive, and you can always use the excuse that every fanbase has these types of fans, yes I agree. Let those people wallow to themselves and give it NO attention then!! Engage with the best of BBN that are willing to engage in conversation like an ADULT.
