Darius Acuff Jr. to the Kings’ crowd: “Just want to thank y’all. From me, my teammates, the organization, want to thank y’all for coming out. It’s going to be a great season. I can promise y’all one thing, we’re going to compete and work hard every game.”

NBC Sports’ @GrantLiffmann says Anthony Black has the potential to be a “future All-Star” by the end of the 2026-27 season 👀 “I think the potential is incredibly high for Anthony Black. I think he is somebody that he just kind of walked into 15 points a game this last couple years without fully realizing who he is yet. I think Anthony Black’s size, his mobility, his defensive potential, I think he is the type of guy that you give him his own team, I think as he matures just who he is as a person behind the scenes, his work ethic, everything goes forward. Anthony Black is a person that’s primed to be a team, just goes out and steals him in restricted free agency and feels really good about it.” (Via @KevinOConnor)

REPORT: The Magic have not yet been willing to offer Anthony Black the same $22 million per year average that Brandin Podziemski signed, per @WindhorstESPN. “Brandin Podziemski is a comparable player to Black and his five-year, $110 million deal with the Warriors last week has framed his contract talks to a degree, especially because Podziemski and Black share an agent, Bill Duffy. The Magic, sources said, have not yet been willing to offer the same $22 million per year average that Podziemski signed.” Teams have been keeping an eye on Black’s status in Orlando and whether the Magic consider moving on from him if they can’t agree on an extension by Monday’s deadline.
