A new Road Safety Strategy was long overdue. The daily toll of deaths and serious injuries demands action.
But why set a target to reduce child road deaths by 70% by 2035? When it comes to children, surely the only acceptable target is zero. This means stronger measures are needed

Great advert. When we make it safe and easy for more people to walk, cycle, or use public transport, driving becomes easier for those who really need it. 🚶♀️🚲🚍🚗

Over the last few months I've done a massive update to the Safe Cycling in London Map (now called the SafeCycleLDN Map): bit.ly/378amr0
Thank you to @joncstone, Stephen Biggins and my many other followers for your wonderful suggestions
Chiswick High Road looks beautiful these days 🚲🌿 — and so welcoming to cyclists.
Great to see data confirming what feels inevitable: air quality has improved too 🌬️✨
Good news to start 2026! Pollution on Chiswick High Rd continues to decline with NO2 levels in 2025 being almost half of 2018. @katherinedunne @Shansview @willnorman

#Helsinki🇫🇮 jshows us: It is possible to go a full year with zero traffic deaths.🚶♀️🚲🚗
Not a matter of luck.
But a matter of policy.
🚗 Slower streets
🚲 Protected bike lanes
❎ Safer crossings
📝 Data > excuses
Vision Zero works.
Cities can choose safety.

🔥 If your road safety campaign doesn't follow this basic rule, you don't really care about road safety that much.
🚶♀️🚲 London’s low-traffic neighbourhoods are saving lives. Full stop.
New data shows a more than 33% drop in deaths and serious injuries on roads with low-traffic zones. That’s real impact—fewer deaths, safer streets, and healthier communities.

We really enjoyed attending this evening in London! Campaigning for better active travel and cleaner air can sometimes feel uphill, but hearing this wonderful panel of women speak about the impact of their work was genuinely uplifting and inspiring. 😊🙏
“Inclusive urbanism isn’t just the right thing to do. It’s the only way of achieving lasting transformation.”
What a great night in London! Thanks to the full house that packed the British Library's George Elliot Room who were fully engaged in the discussion. Next stop Shanghai!
