David Pocock pauses, overcome with emotion, while detailing UN’s horrific findings against Israel “IDF has now killed 20,000 Palestinian children” “…deliberately shot at children’s limbs…as a twisted game of target practice”😔 Barbaric & sickening. This is our ally?

This is not Gaza. This is Hebron today. The Israeli occupation has begun destroying Palestine’s economic capital, a city that accounts for 75% of the country’s production in the stone and marble, leather and footwear, plastics, glass, oils, dairy, and gold industries. Ethnic cleansing is being inflicted on the Palestinian people everywhere across the land of Palestine.

Navi Pillay is a South African, Harvard-educated lawyer and human rights activist who joined the case against apartheid in 1967. She was the first non-white woman to open her own practice there. She ran a shelter for abused women, and founded Equality Now. They arrested and tortured her husband in retaliation for her work. In 1995, Mandela nominated her to the UN security council judgeship, where she oversaw the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. She decided the case that made rape a war crime, stating "From time immemorial, rape has been regarded as spoils of war. Now it will be considered a war crime. We want to send out a strong signal that rape is no longer a trophy of war." She also served on the case against Ferdinand Nahimana, which charged media organizations for their role in "spreading hate propaganda that amounted to public incitement to commit genocide." She's worked on issues of genocide for more than 30 years, and was appointed UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in 2008. She's currently a judge on the Rohingya genocide case (Gambia v. Myanmar). She has single-handedly shaped international law. It'd be difficult to find someone more worthy.

The @Sydney_Uni is facing an alumni revolt over Israel. More than 450 graduates and staff, including a deputy vice-chancellor and Australian AM and OAM recipients, signed a letter demanding a rare Convocation meeting (the first in over three decades) to discuss the university's ties to Israel and free speech on campus. The signatories accuse the university of a "profound moral failure" over Gaza and a "suppression of dissent" on campus. deepcutnews.com/p/alumni-rev…

Novelist Richard Flanagan makes an eloquent plea for the suffering people of Gaza, humane and powerful. Truthful, too, in opening up the role of The Lobby and its encroachment on our national sovereignty. m.youtube.com/watch?v=6XlJM5…

This is exactly what teachers should be doing in Australia.
Well done Scottish teachers. Students everywhere should be learning to engage with the great moral issue of our time. Who else is teaching about western participation in and denial of the holocaust in Palestine?

Allowing a US billionaire-owned cruise line to ruthlessly exploit foreign workers in Australian waters is "good news" for passengers and tourism businesses says Labor. This same statement could have come from any of Labor, the Coalition or One Nation.

What just happened in Ceuta was an orchestrated power move against Spain using migrants as a weapon. Young, unemployed Moroccan men lured by social media groups with promises of a new life and literally bussed to the border and ushed across by Moroccan authorities, were met only by an array of cameras awaiting them. Almost all returned home the next day. We are in a new era of warfare where the new weapons of geopolitical power-plays are ai, disinformation, deepfakes, troll farms and the poor - and Spain just got sent a message. All the world is a stage.

More Jewish settler violence supported by IDF directed at Palestinians. Question for Royal Commission: does the behaviour of this ethno-nationalist state fuel antisemitism? It must. It’s why 80% of Australians now have negative views of Israel.

Gaza was livestreamed. That sentence should have ended the world as we know it. A genocide, documented in real time, filmed by its victims, uploaded from phones in rubble, available to anyone on Earth with an internet connection, watched by hundreds of millions of people while it was happening. And the governments of the world's self-described democracies continued to supply the weapons. And the platforms continued to suppress the content. And the people continued to scroll. And the weapons continued to arrive. We live in the first era of human history where it is possible to watch, in real time, the killing of a people, to see their faces, to hear their voices, to watch the moment the building falls, and for all that visibility to produce almost nothing. Almost nothing. No Nuremberg. No intervention. Hashtags. Protests that were permitted and then ignored. A ceasefire resolution vetoed. More weapons authorized. If visibility alone could stop power, Gaza would have stopped it. It didn't. Which means we need to stop telling ourselves that awareness is the same as action. That sharing is the same as solidarity. That witnessing, even anguished witnessing, even enraged witnessing, is, by itself, a political act. It is not. The empire has made peace with being watched. It has made peace with your outrage. It factored your outrage into the plan. And then it dropped the bomb anyway.

Refreshing +intellectually coherent. Long way from the usual suspect’ tired cliches . SF looked at sea and lost. The clarity and factual nature of the Professor’s responses shattered her attempts to control the narrative. No evidence for her assertions . She was v exposed
Sarah Ferguson actually did every person who seeks the truth about Iran, Israel and Trump's gross stupidity a favour by her hopeless interview of Prof Marandi last Thursday night. For once we were able to hear from an informed, balanced truthful person speaking of these matters.

"The Air Force conducts two to three Minuteman tests every year to ensure its ICBM fleet and forces are prepared" Usually lobs them into the Marshall Islands, middle of the Pacific. But lets act like chooks over a single Chinese test.

Every cancelled speaker, every cancelled writers week, every cancelled performance, every cancelled lecture, every cancelled cultural event add to the simmering resentment of Zionism as its cancer spreads. Zionism is a nasty, depraved cancer on peace and society.
