This week, I’m reminding myself that everybody is somebody’s baby.
“That” student… somebody’s baby.
“That” parent… somebody’s baby.
“That” colleague… somebody’s baby.
Seeking to understand & embracing empathy will go a long way as we try to address all that needs addressing.
I'm incredibly honored to be starting a new role as Instructional Superintendent for Cluster 6 in DC Public Schools and to be working with an incredible group of school leaders to ensure every student has opportunities to thrive!

Announcing the launch of EndDEI.Ed.Gov – a public portal for parents, students, teachers, and the broader community to submit reports of discrimination based on race or sex in publicly-funded K-12 schools.
ALT U.S. Department of Education www.ENDDEI.ed.gov Schools should be focused on learning. The U.S. Department of Education is committed to ensuring all students have access to meaningful learning free of divisive ideologies and indoctrination. This submission form is an outlet for students, parents, teachers, and the broader community to report illegal discriminatory practices at institutions of learning. ED will utilize community submissions to identify potential areas for investigation.

I was out at recess duty and group of 1st graders came up to me. One kid said: “Hey, Mr. M! I like your hair. Why did you dye it grey?” Second kid responded: “He didn’t dye it. He just got old!”
