Wages have shrunk to a small fraction of what they were in 1965, when the minimum wage was $1.90. Gold was $35 per ounce then, $2700 per ounce today. The richest 20% of the population in 1965 held 40% of the wealth, today 63% of all wealth gets pushed to 1% of the population.
Only capitalism, with the right guide rails, can reverse the trend. And the only guide rail that can reverse our economic tendency to push 63% of all wealth to 1% of the population, (as shown in the link below), is to significantly increase minimum wage laws, like a nationwide $25/hour minimum wage. The USA did this before, without knowing it: In 1965 the minimum wage was $1.90, while gold prices were $35/oz. Today gold is $2,700/oz. So, in today’s money a $50/hour minimum wage would be smaller than the $1.90/hour minimum wage of 1965. To give an example, in 1955 my dad married his High School sweetheart, then in 1965, with blue collar wages and 4 kids, (one parent income), purchased a brand new 4 bedroom house in Orange County California. If everyone could possibly lose their ridiculous negative assumptions about minimum wage laws, then today’s young people could afford the same standard of living that the boomers’ parents enjoyed. Significantly higher minimum wage levels will NOT increase prices. Because market forces will instead push profit margin to Small Business, from Big Business.
Here is the explanation:
1.Yes, Small Business & Retail fear that they cannot afford a $25/hour minimum wage law. Everybody incorrectly assumes that. But that’s based on the incorrect assumption that each Small Business/Retail store stands alone.
2.However, each Small Business is not alone. A region wide minimum wage law puts all Small Businesses and Retail in the region, into the same predicament. That shared predicament gives all Small Businesses in the region leverage against Suppliers up the food chain, (Big Business).
3.This is because Big Business cannot afford to, or allow Small Business to fail. This cannot happen. It is impossible.
4.Factories and production lines will not be allowed to waver. In addition, the products being manufactured will not be allowed to go unsold.
5.Products will be delivered to customers. Millions of employees will be paid to accomplish that.
6.Therefore, Big Businesses Suppliers will have no alternative but to lower prices to Small Business and Retail outlets.
7.Today 63% of all wealth created by employees doing their jobs is being pushed to 1% of our population - the owners and shareholders of Big Business. Therefore, Big Business has more than enough money to pay all the costs of the minimum wage increase.
8.Since millions of employees working at or near minimum wage receive a significant pay raise, the Small Businesses and the Big Businesses in turn get millions more customers with money to spend.

Low wages are smothering our economy. Causing out of control taxation, Gvt spending, and voters eager to elect far Left politicians.
Uan Rasey performed the trumpet solo in the opening theme music for the 1974 movie, “Chinatown”. Soulful, captivating.
Will we ever know the truth about the previous (much more efficient) refrigerant gases actually doing damage to the ozone layer? Another exaggerated environmental myth? Who knows the accurate facts?
As a veteran of 43 years (active duty & civilian) Navy service, I am sincerely grateful to the best country established on earth and to all Americans who have maintained and supported our country. The 4 of July is a special day of gratitude and acknowledgment.
In addition, we celebrate the ability we all have to make our country better. We can end homelessness. We can make our economy work for those in poverty the same way it worked for my parent’s generation.
People feel more respect for themselves and more empathy toward others when economic fairness provides a path out of poverty. However, do today’s poor obtain the same level of spending power from entry level jobs that my parent’s generation earned?
Should we be so accepting of the assumptions against significantly higher minimum wage laws? Earning enough money to work one’s way out of poverty is the one and only pathway to economic fairness.
An unbiased view of a significant increase in minimum wage laws, like $22/hour, could look like the following:
Yes, Small Business & Retail cannot afford a $22/hour minimum wage law. Everybody understands that. But think…if each Small Business/Retail store was alone, then yes, it would be doomed.
However, each Small Business is not alone. A region wide minimum wage law puts all Small Businesses and Retail in the region, into the same predicament. That shared predicament gives all Small Businesses in the region leverage against Suppliers up the food chain, (Big Business).
This is because Big Business cannot afford to, or allow Small Business to fail. This cannot happen. It is impossible.
Factories and production lines will not be allowed to waver. In addition, the products being manufactured will not be allowed to go unsold.
Products will be delivered to customers. Millions of employees will be paid to accomplish that.
Therefore, Big Businesses Suppliers will have no alternative but to lower prices to Small Business and Retail outlets.
Today 63% of all wealth created by employees doing their jobs is being pushed to 1% of our population - the owners and shareholders of Big Business. Therefore, Big Business has more than enough money to pay all the costs of the minimum wage increase.
Since thousands, or millions of employees working at or near minimum wage receive a significant pay raise, the Small Businesses and the Big Businesses in turn get thousands or millions more customers with more money to spend.
Taxes are never high enough. As shown by our out of control National Deficit. Since people are working harder for less spending power, and the poor are getting poorer, our elected officials do the only thing they know how to do. They tax&spend, hoping that a government program will fix poverty, homelessness, health care, etc.
We all complain about the decreasing quality of life, but fail to see that today’s low wages push 63% of all wealth to 1% of our population. (Thus 99% of us compete for 37% of all wealth). Meaning, we have a wage problem, not a price problem. But since all of the “smart” people “know” that a $22/hour minimum wage would be a bad thing, nothing gets fixed.
Attached images explain that a $22/hour minimum wage law, for all regions having a population density of a typical city or suburb, makes everybody better off, including the rich. Link shows that 63% of all wealth gets pushed to 1% of our population. But taxes should be considerably lower, and will be when people get paid better and take care of themselves.

Taxing trillions $$ (28 to 50% of your pay) is close to Socialism. Not high minimum wage laws. Our economy will benefit from an immediate $22/hour min-wage law because people will spend. Expand our economy from 37%. Link shows that 63% of all wealth goes to the 1%.

In the News today: California spent $24 billion dollars on homelessness but has more homeless than ever. We need to finally realize that only a $22/hr Minimum Wage law is capable of pushing some of the 63% of all wealth created down from the richest 1% to everybody in the 99%. Attached images explain. Link shows that 63% of all wealth goes to the top 1%.
oxfam.org/en/press-releases/….
Our assumptions about Minimum Wage laws are incorrect. Poverty can be reduced. Employees can earn more. Attached images explain. Link shows that the richest 1% bag 63% of all wealth.

All conflict is fixable. Conflict between nations, political parties, people around us, is based on the wage & wealth gap. Question the strongest held, yet most incorrect assumptions about minimum wage laws. They’ve NEVER been truly tested- just assumed strongly, causing poverty
Real wage spending power decreases each year causing all of our problems. Small, phased in minimum wage increases hurt retail & small biz & generate fear of wages. Sudden, region wide $22/hr Min Wage increase forces the top 1% to pay, the 1% need Sm Biz: anderson-review.ucla.edu/min…
Capitalism is the best economic system! And laws prevent monopolies, insider trading, etc. So the free market can’t be completely free. Link below shows 99% of us compete for 37% of wealth: oxfam.org/en/press-releases/…. We Can afford a $22/hr Min-Wage. The ONLY way to fix poverty
OXFAM has facts about the wealth distribution cause of low pay. (Ignore their incorrect cure of High Tax & Central Control) oxfam.org/en/press-releases/…. High Wages, not taxes, build our economy & end poverty, homelessness & hopelessness. Undocumented too because they do tons of work
OXFAM has facts about the wealth distribution cause of low pay. (Ignore their incorrect cure of High Tax & Central Control) oxfam.org/en/press-releases/…. High Wages, not taxes, build our economy & end poverty, homelessness & hopelessness. Undocumented too because they do tons of work
1) 150 yrs of tax&spend yet poverty & homelessness get worse. 2) Top1% keep 67% of wealth created by employees-see OXFAM 3) Min-Wage jobs can’t provide roof & groceries. Therefore, tiny wages created wealth disparity, hopelessness & anger. There’s no logical alternative argument.
$22/hr minimum wage law puts millions of people into the spending part of our economy, from the non- spending part. The 1% will pay & then take a smaller % of a much bigger economy. oxfam.org/en/press-releases/….
