Folks - the highway is not safe, so I’m unable to make the trip. I’m super heartbroken and mad right now, but can’t risk the drive. Please stay safe today
Hitting the road to get to the park on time! Hope to see a few familiar (and may be a few new!) faces!
One more sleep! Gonna come and run with us tomorrow at Shubie Park? Cute bib and registration is just a donation to the park!!
Just to get some idea of how many people we can expect tomorrow at Shubie - can you reply here if you plan on attending in person? Thanks!
Hey! Care to join us next Sunday at Shubenacadie Wildlife Park for a 5k fun run? Starts at 9:30 am and registration is just a donation to the park! Sam and his friends appreciate the support!
Someone was feisty this morning!!! Maybe it's good we're giving Sam a week to relax :) teapawt.org/CBCMorningLive/status/…
Who knew Groundhog Day would be such a dangerous assignment?! While Nova Scotians were distracted with thoughts of an early spring, @ShubenacadieSam tried to make a break for it. Luckily, @Brett_CBC isn't afraid to bleed for his craft! @MichaelSerapio gets the whole wild story.
Sam & I have consulted after his proclamation & have decided the safer decision is to postpone the Gamble by one week - so now it will be Feb 11th at 9:30 am. On site bib pick up/donation to the park opens at 8:30. See you next week and stay safe today! Please spread the word!
WOOHOO!! Looks like it will be 5km on Sunday!! Remember, registration is a donation to the park - pay what you can, be generous if you can :) teapawt.org/ShubenacadieSam/status…
The mascots are mingling, faces are being painted! I'm starting to get anxious! #Nervousbutterflies #GroundhogDay2018
Well folks - today we find out how far we run at this year’s Groundhog Gamble - 5k or 11k. Sam will let us know in a couple of hours!!
Facebook event for this week's Groundhog Gamble 2.0 - please note that due to weather, we may postpone until the 11th. Stay tuned to the event page!! facebook.com/events/14278389…
We will be live this Friday for @ShubenacadieSam's winter prediction. It will also decide how far we run on Sunday! Who is excited???
Instead of a set registration this year, it will be a non-timed fun run. Runners will all get bibs and are asked to make a donation to @ShubenacadieSam. The distance of the run will still be unknown until Friday, February 2nd. Bib pick up is at 9 am and the run starts at 9:30!
The Groundhog Gamble is OFFICIALLY a go this year, though for 2018 there are a few small tweaks. Rather than miss a year, we decided to scale back and simplify. The date for this year will be Sunday, Feb 4th. Details to follow.
