In a nutshell, privileged & entitled bureaucrats & weak politicians actively thwart advancing food security for low income women/children/BIPOC citizens in #yyc.
It’s the food systems form of redlining.

Food Insecurity negatively impacts women/children/BIPOC. To have someone that “leads” Calgary’s Food Plan that is so privileged, elitist & entitled is a disservice.

As for great success stories, there are many.
@GrowCalgary has grown over 1,000,000 low income/homeless meals. 95% of our fresh food goes to children/women/BIPOC. And 40,000 volunteers have contributed their time.
But through a lens of privilege, that’s not enough. #yyccc #yyc

Volunteer projects kept me sane. We went on walks with seniors, gave 1000bouquets, 🎹 concerts for seniors, opened good neighbour, helped at the sculpture park, hosted Christmas market, helped 5 fridges start in canada, painted murals, bought food and sponsored Sowila. Grateful!
