Brazil is not a socialist country. A president's political philosophy doesn't always alter the identity of a country. Lula and his government are generally described as "left wing" sometimes "progressive government." Some call him a social democrat and developmentalist.
But is Brazil a socialist country? NO! Brazil has a mixed economy- private businesses operate alongside state- owned enterprises, public services and social programmes. Its constitution explicitly protects private property, competition whilst also prioritizing social justice and inequality.
So ANYONE who hates right wing politics, hates unfettered free market and hates anti science and climate policies, has every right to celebrate Lula's victory. Even private sector disciples who believe in social justice and security protection for the vulnerable, can welcome his victory.
