Competition can be good.
It forces everyone to build better products, lower fees and keep improving.
But I think crypto confused competition with tribalism somewhere along the way.
We spent years acting as if another chain or ecosystem doing well meant ours had to lose.
That makes even less sense now that crypto is becoming increasingly interoperable.
Users, assets, liquidity and data don’t live inside one ecosystem anymore.
I think we should compete hard on products and execution while collaborating on making the entire space bigger and more useful.

One thing worth knowing before you list them: every cat owns its own wallet (ERC-6551). The wallet address for a cat is accountOf(tokenId) on the contract, and it holds the FCAT that came with the cat plus whatever the owner feeds it. That wallet changes hands with the NFT, which is the whole point, but it also means a seller could empty the cat's wallet between listing and sale and the buyer would get a hollow cat.
We fixed that on our own 8 Market with wallet locked deals: at listing time (and at offer time) we record the wallet's state, and the sale only goes through if nothing has left the wallet since. Deposits never block a deal, only outflows. On chain the pieces are:
- CatAccount(accountOf(id)).state() changes whenever something leaves the wallet
- Club888.transferCount(id) and approvalCount(id) move when the cat itself is transferred or approved
If you can record state() when a listing or offer is created and refuse the fill when it differs, your buyers get the same protection. At minimum, showing the wallet's live balance on the cat's page helps a lot.
