It blows my mind how people who know nothing about how “neural networks” function will make crazy arguments in order to promote the idea that a finite state machine and certain kinds of software that run on the finite state machine are conscious. A rock has just as much consciousness as either the inputs, the calculations, or the outputs of a computer system running a neural network (or any other software). If a neural network is alive then so is a python script that adds one and one and returns two.

oh dang this is getting pretty good. i had opus 5.5 add colbert-based hybrid search + reranker to this multi-level-summarized corpus of Anthropic's Form S-1 and it was able to answer the query
"who owns the god share"
which my search over just the full document could not. this is getting really exciting! i think this UI is landing the plane i was trying to from the start.
