The Hamilton County Juvenile Services Center held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate a shed built by youth in our facility! 🧰🔨 Over the past year, participants have gained hands-on construction experience while learning important skills, including job safety. This program is made possible through opioid settlement funds, providing opportunities for growth, skill development, and a positive path forward. A special thank-you to Deeply Ingrained for helping facilitate this and providing these valuable learning opportunities. We're proud to celebrate the hard work and accomplishment that went into bringing this project to life! 👏

🚜 Happy National Farmer’s Day! 🌾As farmers work hard to bring in the harvest, you may see more tractors and farm equipment traveling on our roads. Remember to share the road and give them the space they need to travel safely! A huge thank you to the Flanders family who shared their time and perspective with us to help promote safer roads for everyone this harvest season! Please remember: 🚜Slow down when approaching agricultural vehicles ⚠️Pass with caution – only when it’s safe and legal ⤴️Watch for wide turns – farm equipment often needs extra room to maneuver 📱Avoid distractions – put the phone down and stay focused Farmers are working hard to bring in the crops. A few extra seconds of patience can prevent a serious crash. Let’s all be careful out there and have a safe harvest season! This week, men from the Hamilton County Jail's TOWER (Transitioning Opportunities for Work, Education, and Reality) Program are participating in a 10-hour course taught by Gaylor Electric. This course is held once per quarter for the TOWER Program participants in addition to the OSHA 10 course and the pre-apprenticeship HVAC and Plumbing program they already receive. Gainful employment/careers reduce recidivism, so we are committed to creating opportunities and expanding access to workforce development and skilled trades. A special thank you to Invest Hamilton County for helping to provide the tools for each participant to utilize in the course.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎀 Throughout the month, our deputies are wearing pink badges to support and honor those impacted by breast cancer and remember those we have lost. You may also spot one of our patrol vehicles sporting pink as we help spread awareness throughout our community. Breast cancer affects thousands of women each year and can also affect men. We encourage everyone to stay informed, talk with their healthcare provider about recommended screenings, and support those impacted by the disease. This October, we stand with survivors, support those currently facing breast cancer, and remember those we have lost. 🩷

🚓🚜🚒 Touch-A-Truck Fun in Cicero! 🚛 The HCSO enjoyed the beautiful weather this past Saturday at the Cicero Touch-A-Truck event at Red Bridge Park! It was great to see so many families come out and watch the excitement on the little ones’ faces as they got an up-close look at some of their favorite vehicles......the same trucks, tractors, and emergency vehicles they love to play with at home! There were trucks, tractors, fire trucks, police cars, tow trucks, and so much more! 🚔🚜🔥 A big thank you to the Cicero Fire Department and Cicero Parks Department for the great hospitality and for putting together such a fun event for the community. We had a great time and can’t wait to see everyone again next year! 👋 #HCSO #HamiltonCounty #CiceroIndiana #TouchATruck #CommunityEngagement #CommunityFirst

Today, the Second Chance Opportunity & Resource Fair connected soon-to-be-released individuals with local employers, service organizations, and community partners to help them prepare for their next chapter. The event was hosted by the Hamilton County Jail in partnership with the T.O.W.E.R (Transitioning Opportunities for Work, Education, and Reality) Reentry Program and Invest Hamilton County. Participants had the opportunity to connect directly with employers, explore career opportunities, and learn about resources ranging from education and life skills to mental health services. We are grateful to the many local businesses and organizations who took the time to participate and recognize the potential in providing a second chance. A special thank you to Invest for helping organize the event and, along with Northview Church Noblesville, for sponsoring lunch for our participants and guests. Events like this are a reminder that successful reentry is a community effort. When we provide opportunity, support, and a path forward, we help individuals build confidence, pursue meaningful employment, and work toward a brighter future.

Safety, smiles, and some great stories! Deputy Peelman and Sgt. Melton had a great time visiting the Noblesville Methodist Preschool and talking with the students about some important safety topics! We discussed when and how to call 911, knowing your home address and phone number, and what to do if you ever become separated from your family. The kids were fantastic and had plenty of great questions and stories of their own, especially when it came to talking about their families and pets! 🐶❤️ A big thank you to the teachers, staff, and volunteers who helped make the visit such a success. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back and helping our youngest community members learn, stay safe, and have a little fun along the way! Thank you for inviting us! 🚔👏

The Potter's Bridge Fall Festival is happening this Saturday, October 3rd from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.! The following Information is from our friends at the Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department. (see attached map for parking information) 📣KNOW BEFORE YOU GO! 🔸General Parking is located off Edith Avenue just north of Potter’s Bridge 🔸Accessible Parking is located at the Allisonville Road entrance. 🔸There will be NO PARKING along Allisonville Road or Potters Woods neighborhood. 🔸There will be signage, and staff will be on-site to direct traffic the day of the event. UPDATE: Potter's Bridge has been cleared for everyday pedestrian use since its post-flood inspection. Due to the high attendance of Potter's Bridge Fall Festival, bridge engineers have recommended we manage bridge crossings a little differently for the event. Out of an abundance of caution, we'll be limiting bridge access to 250 people at a time, with clear path markers in place to guide you across. There might be a short wait to cross the bridge on festival day, so we just ask for a little patience and flexibility.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was honored to assist the Indiana State Police with the escort of U.S. Navy 1st Class Fireman Fred H. Boyer, a Hoosier who made the ultimate sacrifice during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Navy 1st Class Fireman Boyer, originally from Tipton County, was just 22 years old when he was killed aboard the USS West Virginia on December 7, 1941. He was one of 106 crew members who lost their lives during the attack. In July 2024, after more than 82 years, Fireman Boyer was finally identified, and his remains are now being returned home to Indiana. It is difficult to put into words the honor of being part of this escort. More than eight decades after he gave his life serving our country, Navy 1st Class Fireman Boyer is back home today. Today, we remember Navy 1st Class Fireman Boyer, honor his service, and sacrifice, and extend our deepest respect to his family. Thank you to the Indiana State Police for the invitation to be part of this historic homecoming.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Retired Deputy Wayne "Alan" Farley, 64, who passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Deputy Farley served the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office for forty years, from 1985 to 2025. Alan's life was a testament to his strong spirit and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community. His commitment to the safety and well-being of those around him was evident in his daily work, and his achievements were notable. In 1984 at the age of 22, he became the youngest Marshall in the state, serving the town of Atlanta, Indiana. Less than a year later, he enrolled in the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, hiring on at HCSO after graduating. Our hearts go out to the Farley family and everyone who knew Alan. Today, @NoblesvilleIN and Hamilton County Government together to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, and honor the lvies and sacrifices that continue to shape our nation. The memorial celebration included a Presentation of Colors by the Honor Guard, with members representing the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Noblesville Police Department and @NoblesvilleFD. The event also featured remarks from several speakers in county government and a moment of reflection and prayer with HCSO's Chaplain Daniel Hester. Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who answered the call, and never forget the strength and unity displayed in the days that followed.
