First-Time Watching Ryan's Daughter on 4K Tonight 🍿.
The Warner Archive Collection is knocking out nothing but bangers all year on 4K. Let's see how this one looks. Fingers crossed. This movie is over 2 Discs, which should put this movie into the 90 Mbps range for bitrate. When Bitrates are that high on 4K Disc it's basically visually lossless. This is why you don't need another format after 4K, because when the encoding is top tier, it can't look any better.
Looking forward to watching it. Have you seen this movie before?
@WarnerArchive
Wildwood is a decent movie, but in the end, I felt slightly let down by it. What was incredible were the visuals, and for some I think the visuals will overshadow the slightly weak story. Right away you get Labyrinth (1986), but unfortunately Wildwood doesn't have the personality of Labyrinth.
One of my issues is that the 12-year-old girl, Prue, is not likeable at all. She feels like a bully to me, and my connection to her losing her brother was lessened because I had no connection to the character. I think more time could have been used to establish that she's actually a nice person. I felt sorry for the boy named Curtis that she bullied from start to finish.
While I won't ruin what happens, there's something that happens in the movie that removes all accountability from the main little girl. That sentimentality is too modern and removes any wrongdoing in the first place. I really did not like that. Also, learning the truth in the movie in this way really took me out of it. There are what I would call modern values in the movie as well, which felt obvious while watching and again reminded me of the world I live in today, not the magical world of Wildwood.
I would just point out to families that I think the film is quite violent for young kids. I think some of it goes too far in certain scenes. There were kids in my showing, and I felt a little uneasy for them. This doesn't feel like a kids' story. It feels like a teenage story.
In the end, Wildwood is a visual masterpiece and deserves every award coming to it. However, it's let down by a story I didn't care for and is one of the weaker Laika stop-motion movies I've seen. Wildwood feels like a missed opportunity. It's not in the same league as Coraline, for example, a movie released in 2009 Laika.

AHHHH, Not again!!!! Sony!!!
Sony is reportedly forcing players to update their system software in order to play some physical games discs🚀
Multiple players have documented and shared evidence of this issue occurring.
This is another reason we DEMAND physical media to remain in production and for discs to include the ENTIRE game, without downloads or the need to update any software.
We need to call for the law, as many lawmakers around the words have expressed concerns, and seek to uphold customer rights.
It should be ILLEGAL for a company to control how you use a product you bought, even if they put it in their terms, it should never be allowed to stand in court, whether it’s physical or digital.

The commentary track for Silence of the Lambs 4K is stunning. They don't make them like this anymore.
It's an absolute masterclass lineup featuring director Jonathan Demme, Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, screenwriter Ted Tally, and even former FBI agent John Douglas.

The Silence of the Lambs is one of my favorite movies of the 90s. Now it's got a Criterion Collection 4K release and I'm so happy. Jodie Foster played a perfect role, and Anthony Hopkins is simply amazing in this movie. I've been waiting to watch this movie again, and I can't wait. I love Physical Media!

Taking a little trip to Walmart to see if I can find anything for my dad's birthday.
That Sopranos Complete Collection looks good, but I think it's getting a 4K release. Baywatch on the other hand is probably not getting a 4K. I'm leaning towards Baywatch, what do you think? You just can't beat some good Baywatch action can you?

Watching Coraline on 4K Tonight 🍿.
It's hard to imagine this movie came out in 2009. Where does the time go?
What's for your favorite movie by LAIKA Studios?

Panasonic rules. I’ve been fortunate enough to tour the Panasonic Hollywood Labs twice back in 2007 and 2008.
They are a company that truly cares about physical media.
.@Panasonic needs to take the mantle of 4K UHD Blu-ray (and Blu-ray) like Pioneer's revision of LaserVision into LaserDisc. Absolute dominance and future innovation, even if catering to a niche. Supporters will respond.
