“Recent discussions about adopting European-style approaches to drug pricing deserve careful scrutiny. For decades, strict price controls in Europe have coincided with a gradual contraction of the continent’s biotech sector and more limited patient access to new medicines.” @JeromeAdamsMD nationalreview.com/2026/10/a…

Three findings from our study in @JournalGIM: 1️⃣For-profit hospitals spent less on both labor and non-labor expenses than nonprofit and government hospitals. 2️⃣For-profit hospitals earned a sizable profit margin, while nonprofit hospitals operated with a thin margin and government hospitals incurred a small loss. 3️⃣Nonprofit hospitals, despite receiving generous tax-exempt benefits, in aggregate provided less charity care than government and for-profit hospitals. A key takeaway from the @USHCC National Conference: Small business health insurance family premiums surged 50%+ to $26,054. Every dollar tied up in premiums is a dollar not spent hiring, raising wages, or expanding. "Do more with less" can't mean asking entrepreneurs to absorb skyrocketing costs. Small businesses aren't asking for special treatment. They just need a healthcare marketplace that is as competitive as the one they operate in every day. 💡 #USHCC #SmallBiz #HealthcareReform #EconomicGrowth #HispanicBusiness

"America can’t champion small businesses while pricing them out of health insurance." Lowering health insurance costs is critical for our economy and workforce. When small employers are priced out of coverage, local workers and diverse communities lose access to care. We’re proud to highlight this new op-ed in @TheWellNews from HEC community partner @USHCC President Ramiro A. Cavazos 👇 thewellnews.com/opinions/ame…

Rich getting richer? Hospitals should publicly report how much revenue they generate through 340B and how those dollars are spent. Time to pass the @RepGregMurphy Tax Exempt Hospital Transparency Act. @C4AHC
🚨 NEW RESEARCH A new analysis from the @HECollaborative finds that between 2015 and 2024, most nonprofit hospital expansion under the 340B Program occurred in more advantaged communities—not the nation's most vulnerable communities. 📊 The findings raise important questions about whether the 340B Program's current incentives are directing resources to the patients and communities Congress originally intended to serve and underscore the need for greater transparency, accountability, and oversight. Today, the Health Equity Collaborative submitted comments to @SenFinance outlining commonsense ways to lower prescription drug costs. 💊 Our community believes patients shouldn't have to choose between affordable medicines and future medical breakthroughs. We urge #Congress to lower out-of-pocket costs, improve transparency, and protect biomedical innovation. #DrugPricing

The #340B Program has expanded significantly over the past decade, but important questions remain about transparency, accountability, and whether the program consistently delivers meaningful benefits to patients. @HRSAgov's new rebate pilot is an important step toward strengthening oversight and generating the data needed to evaluate how the program is working in practice. The ultimate measure of success should be simple: ensuring the program fulfills its mission of supporting patients who need it most. #340B #HealthPolicy #EvidenceBasedPolicy #Healthcare #PatientCare More Here: 👇hrsa.gov/about/news/press-re…

To make healthcare truly affordable, policy solutions must focus on the largest driver of costs: hospital care. While prescription drugs get the headlines, rising hospital prices place the heaviest financial strain on marginalized and low-income communities. It’s time to follow the data and address where the money is actually going. 👇 jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…
