Many of children who became sick had not recieved a measles-rubella vacine. It the reason why 9 -59 months children need the vaccine for protection against MR vaccine.

Some of the key resolutions and way-forward which emerged from the Recruitment Planning Meeting for Financial Year 2026/2027:
The meeting noted the urgent need to prioritize the recruitment of critical cadres in Health Institutions. It was agreed that priority be given to filling positions of Intensivists, Anaesthesiologists/Anaesthetists, Psychiatric cadres, Radiologists, and Midwives, given the acute shortage of these specialized personnel and their direct impact on service delivery.
The meeting observed a need to review and harmonize the recruitment cycle with the national budgeting cycle. It was resolved that a harmonization meeting be convened with all Commissions to reach consensus on a recruitment cycle that is better aligned with budget timelines.
The meeting acknowledged the shortage of common cadre staff, particularly Internal Auditors and IT Officers, needed in hospitals to manage and audit existing systems. It was resolved that this need be addressed by drawing from the recently concluded and validated USG (U.S. Government) contract staff at the Regional Referral Hospitals.
Dr. Mary Namubiru Member HSC chaired the second session of the Recruitment Planning Meeting where Heads of Institutions shared presentations of Recruitment Plans.
In review of the last day of the Recruitment Planning Meeting held by Health Service Commission, Member HSC Dr, Nathan Onyachi chaired the first session where Ms. @MNayiga95375 Ag. Commissioner R&SS HSC shared about the guidelines on recruitment of Executive Consultants, Consultants, Associate Consultants at the General Hospitals and all positions of Salary Scale U2 and above in the respective District Local Governments.
The PHRO/RSS Mr. Moses Orika Loreka also presented a Recruitment report for FY 2025/2026 and Key Issues in Recruitment Planning for FY 2026/2027.
