We have a critical thinking crisis that has been sweeping through the nation for the last 12 years and it is by design. In 2012, Congress passed the Smith Mundt Modernization Act, which allowed for propaganda produced by the State Department meant for foreign audiences, to become available for domestic consumption. Now defenders of this will say that this material is only available on request, and that it is not incorporated into mainstream news broadcasting, but I think there are significant indicators that this is not the case. Think about the evolution of the hoaxes that have been exposed since 2015 about Donald Trump and I think that really paints the picture pretty perfectly. What really brings me to this observation, and I know it is not that profound but I just felt like laying it out there, is thinking about how frustrating it is when you get in a discussion with somebody about what you see as a false news story, but that they will vigorously defend as the truth. Somebody has to be correct about their beliefs don't they? And of course the answer to this is yes. I think this speaks to the strength and the coordination of the propaganda that has infected our institutions. There are so many different examples of different government cutouts that are meant to "counter disinformation" in some capacity: the GEC (Global Engagement Center), CISA, the Atlantic Council, etc. Should we really be surprised that half of the population is unable to critically think about the information that is being laid out in front of us? When you have all of the extraneous factors trying to tell you what to think rather than offer raw information for you to then filter through your own psyche, how could you possibly do so? It is often said "once you see it, you can't unsee it" and that is particularly true in this case. A big battle for the future will be the continued fight for the American Psyche, we have to continue to push back for freedom from censorship and the freedom to come to your own conclusions. Our side will not always be right; we of course have factions of our own that often are not able to critique the shortcomings of our leaders, but I believe we are well equipped to handle those challenges as they present themselves if we are willing to be honest with ourselves throughout it all.

Objectively true.
There’s a new Bill Kristol wing of the GOP forming and it’s led by Kim Strassel, Marc Thiessen, and a bunch of weirdos paid to be too online.

1000% agree.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I hope Sophie Cunningham stays far away from the Con Inc / media / influencer ecosystem. She could make a much bigger cultural impact by staying right where she is, doing what she loves, and speaking on issues she truly cares about to young women who are apolitical or liberal (the vast majority of young women in America). As opposed to entering an echo chamber and preaching to the choir.

Sorry for your loss Idrees. Going to have to try harder to undermine the United States military now, best of luck!

Any ICE officer who says “well actually, Mayorkas wasn’t so bad” should immediately be shown the door. I’ve never liked these ‘journalists’ but now I’m disregarding everything they say from this point forward. If you don’t understand why, I can’t help you. Sorry.
EXCLUSIVE — ICE officers who voted for Trump in 2024 speak out, against his handling of immigration “Many on the right will think this is an attack on Trump,” he said. “I voted for Trump this time around. I believe in immigration enforcement. But man, it’s so disorganized and chaotic. I’ve talked to many officers who said that at least [former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas] showed appreciation by giving us admin leave.” washingtonexaminer.com/polic…

I ain’t reading all that Happy 4 u tho
IMHO, a lot of conservatives are missing the Biblical forest for the woke trees in Nolan's Odyssey. Yes, the casting of Elliot Page is silly and egregious. But here's the thing: Nolan's "The Odyssey" is an apologia for Christian morality poured into a Greek vase. The entire movie is rooted in what Nolan terms "Zeus' law." That law is: "Treat others as you would want to be treated, because anyone might be a god." Now, clearly, there's nothing like that in Greek mythology. It's not implicit in Homer. It's a direct rip from Biblical morality, substituting "because anyone might be a god" for "because man was made in the image of God." Nolan then takes this rule and uses it as his moral glue: the idea is that Odysseus, in utilizing the Trojan Horse, violated Zeus' law and led to full-scale slaughter. That sin has led to the unleashing of broader globalized sin (the "sea peoples" who don't respect Zeus' law and are invading surrounding areas). This is a highly Biblical message: that sin is infectious, and that sin also affects the world at large, not just the sinner. Odysseus has sinned, and he must atone for that sin through self-imposed exile. He must also sacrifice his own aspirations to restore the possibility of a moral universe: because he has unleashed catastrophic violence and violation of Zeus' law -- manifest in the suitors' cynical use of Zeus' law to eat Penelope out of house and home -- he must violate Zeus' law one last time and then accept the penalty, which is exile. This is a not only a movie that will make millions of people go read classical literature again. It also reinforces the idea that violation of the Golden Rule has disastrous consequences. I dunno. I'd consider that, on balance, a large-scale win for civilizational values, when weighed against the woke casting of Elliot Page or the dumbass discussion over whether Lupita Nyongo is good-looking enough (she is, and for the record Diane Kruger is German, not Greek).

Marc Thiessen is quickly joining the ranks of the great troons of the right: Bonchie and Erickson. Nothing here is disqualifying, Marc just can’t articulate what has his man thong in a twist.
The “post liberal right” believes that the classical liberal principles of our founders and the Declaration have failed and need to be replaced with a new order that elevates the “common good” above individual liberty. That should be disqualifying for anyone hoping to lead this country.

A few other men Marc disqualifies from leading our country: "Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity and happiness of the people; and not for the profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men." -John Adams “It is too early for politicians to presume on our forgetting that the public good, the real welfare of the great body of the people, is the supreme object to be pursued; and that no form of government whatever has any other value than as it may be fitted for the attainment of this object.” -James Madison “The aggregate happiness of society, which is best promoted by the practice of a virtuous policy, is or ought to be the end of all government.” -George Washington
The “post liberal right” believes that the classical liberal principles of our founders and the Declaration have failed and need to be replaced with a new order that elevates the “common good” above individual liberty. That should be disqualifying for anyone hoping to lead this country.

Really interesting read on @realBrandonGill and his focus on the Socratic method: “He doesn’t talk about virality at all. He talks about persuasion. He doesn’t think members of Congress should memorize talking points. In fact, he believes that’s one of the great mistakes Republicans continue to make. ‘If you’re going to go on Fox,’ he told me, ‘have something unique to say — not the same thing every other congressman is saying.’ The advice sounds simple enough. But in an era when political communications has become increasingly centralized, scripted, and consultant-driven, it is almost radical. And it helps explain why Gill’s clips don’t feel like they were designed by consultants. They feel like they were designed by someone who spent years studying how ideas persuade people.”

Those darned software errors that accomplish the very thing Democrats and Lisa Murkowski say never happens. Shucks, oh well!
BREAKING: New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill reveals that a “software error” within NJ’s Motor Vehicle System erroneously registered 6,600 non-citizens to vote even though they self attested they aren’t U.S. citizens and that “fewer than 400” of those people actually did vote.

Listen to me, and hear me loud and clear. I would quite literally rather a radical DSA Democrat win in Alaska than another term of Lisa Murkowski. Think about all the important votes this term and what it costs to get a ‘yes’ vote from her. Do you remember the OBBB?
She does this every time. Absolute disaster for the party, and the movement.

The “war” on Iran is complete when the country stops piracy. The U.S. has quite a history of dealing with pirates even recently You may say that’s “unfair” or “cruel” but Irans the one trying piracy not us
The US war on Iran has lost any military logic and is simply a war of terror on the civilian population
