I heard there's 8000 entries to this Steam Next Fest?
Anyway, quick browse through and I'm interesting in three demos so far:
- Hijura Scarlet Gear: The Segagaga and Astro Boy: Omega Factor's director is one of my silent favorite directors, so I'm extremely curious to see how he pulls off the weird premise of making everything through AI. The artstyle does reminds me of Astro Boy in a weird way.
- Muv Luv Girls Garden: c'mon. Very strange there's a demo though, I thought it was a gacha?
- RPG Maker U2U: Since I'm using Bakin a lot, curious how it performs. I can't ever go without my cute Vroid models, but still interested in seeing what potential RPG Maker games could be made.

The entire world of HIJURA SCARLET GEAR is generated by AI.
Stage 1 replicates Japan's Showa era just as it was, a world eternally dreaming of Japan's post-war economic miracle. I am among the generation that just barely remembers the last lingering traces of that era.
"Song of the Showa Tower" was conceived with that Showa nostalgia in mind. I initially asked the AI to compose it—but it couldn't produce anything usable. In the end, I had to write the lyrics, compose the melody, arrange the backing track, and even sing the vocals myself. After all that work, I managed to pull together a mere 40-second piece.
The full version of the game features my live vocals, so I hope you give it a listen.
I think this piece makes it abundantly clear: AI is merely a tool—nothing more, nothing less.
