The Austin American-Statesman has endorsed Gina Hinojosa over Greg Abbott. Over the last few years Abbott has become a mini me of President Trump. He has used his pulpit to demagogue against Muslims. He spent many billions on border security with no bid contracts. He is using his position to denigrate public schools instead of building them up. He has become a puppet of the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
Before this year very few Texans had heard of Gina Hinojosa. At the start of the year no one gave her a chance against Greg Abbott. She does not flinch when she is slandered by the Abbott campaign. She would be a bright light advocating for quality public schools.

* Chi Phi fraternity leadership held a meeting to align their members' stories and prevent details of an alleged 2024 gang rape from spreading, according to police records, per local ABC News.
* AG Letitia James says her office is close to finalizing hiring of an outside law firm that will assist in pursuing a criminal case.
* Her office has already met with the Tompkins County DA, and Jane Doe’s attorney.
* Cornell retained Sally Yates to conduct a wide-ranging probe, including the university’s handling of the Jane Doe case, how Cornell investigates reports of sexual assault and sexual harassment, how the disciplinary process works, campus police responses and more.
* Today, Cornell students will skip class and hold a seven-hour sit-in today at Toni Morrison Dining Hall in solidarity with Jane Doe and sexual assault survivors.
