Mitt Romney according to Ron DeSantis
With all due respect, the number of times I spoke with Paul Ryan from my election as governor through the 2024 campaign: zero.
And Mitt Romney was attacking me back then because we beat Disney on gender ideology and he is a corporatist.
Try demonstrating a little more discernment next time someone is peddling bullsh— to you.

No Russian or Belarusian teams at the World Junior Championship. Not under your flag. Not under a neutral flag. Not under any pretense. Period."

New (amazing) cabinet directive:
For every $1 in regulatory costs a new rule adds, regulators must cut $2 elsewhere. 👏
They’ll also have to test new rules for competitiveness, default to national or international standards, and review rules regularly.

This right-wing was a reactive, passive, loser movement from the very beginning.
What happened: the left gained actual power during this time - suddenly corpos, teachers, colleagues, forum moderators and even your classmates were using terminology that was long-prepared in left-wing circles or universities, such as "intersectionality", "performativity" or "inclusivity". People were suddenly told to "check their privilege" or treat people better to compensate for historic injustice. The liberal race and gender consensus of the 90s, exemplified by sitcoms like Bill Cosby where black people were portrayed as upper class whites and the quiet social contract was to pretend 'this is how black people live now' broke down completely. The left noticed the gap between ideal and reality, added gender minority issues to the mix, and then sought to drag reality towards the ideal.
Many liberals didn't resist or even agreed with their program. Especially since this time, the left was not threatening property - they were simply asking the world to use more sensitive language and change hiring practices. Liberals could live with that if that would mean it could assuage racial disparities, as the left promised. The idiot right at the time called this "Cultural Marxism" and Anders Behring Breivik killed 90 kids in Norway.
And then lot of people woke up in a world ruled by left-wingers. And then they asked what the hell was happening. People make fun of gamergate but it was a moment where a lot of Millennials noticed who actually started to hold institutional power. These people, who "just wanted to play video games" and became right-wing five minutes ago, then teamed up with niche right-wing groups who had long prepared for this moment, often with connections with neo-nazi movements or adjacent to it, alongside elements of the Tea Party which reacted to Barack HUSSEIN Obama's election. Trump 2016 then created a coalition out of all of these people, combined it with his personal charisma and a genuinely great presidential campaign and together they managed to oust the traditional Republicans.
This ad-hoc coalition of people, realising that they, essentially, have already lost (hence "Make America Great AGAIN"), united by a charismatic narcissist who was in it for self-aggrandisement, was then facing a left that had been theoretically grounded in philosophy since the 70s and 80s, which had been well-established in various journals and university departments and had massive institutional influence in schools, universities and on the internet. Is it any surprise that a bunch of grifters and confused millennials would produce the most corrupt and least productive administration probably ever?
If the right wants to survive and achieve anything, it has to go through a similar journey. Small, intellectual groups, a well-developed theoretical base, taking over the universities, then education systems and finally the government. With AI, it's possible to even circumvent universities as AI is a better peer-reviewer than anyone else. NRx is an example of this, but it, too, was not ready to govern and underdeveloped. Only through the labour of the negative is anything worthwhile possible.
People who are well-grounded theoretically have actual convictions which then leads to virtue which leads to serious governments. Not the trash below.

Oh nice, Juno News is a Russian asset.
Carney has allowed Canadian troops to be sent to the eastern border of Latvia, putting Canadians within striking distance and creating an opportunity for Canada to be dragged into the war.
