That’s the football talking? @HKane
🚨 JUST IN: Dutch journalist reveals he received an email for the Ballon d’Or:
“Harry Kane’s press team sent me a email, asking if I was interested in an exclusive interview.
But Kylian Mbappé has written history, that's why he was first for me. Lamine Yamal was great, but in World Cup Rodri was more dominant.”

Oh but i thought Kane was the humble white man moving in silence
🚨🇳🇱 Dutch journalist statement on his Ballon d'Or votes:
"Kylian Mbappé has written history, that's why he was first for me. Lamine Yamal was great these last few months, but in World Cup Rodri was more dominant.
The closer voting gets, the more the pressure rises, there are all sorts of approaches to influence journalists.
For example, I received an email from Harry Kane press team, asking if I was interested in an exclusive interview."

-Harry Kane wasn't the best player in Germany
-wasn’t the best Bayern player
- wasn't the World Cup top scorer
-wasn’t the UCL top scorer
-Flopped at WC (got outscored by a midfielder)
All he did was statppading in the Bundesliga and he gets to win a Ballon d’Or. BRO FUCK THIS

people saying Kane did no PR campaign for this award is actually killing me bc he did just as many interviews as the other two but he’s just boring so no one even paid attention 😭⚰️

People forced the dictator gimmick on Mbappe, made endless jokes and memes about him being a dictator, and that was all fine? But the moment he laughs at one of those memes and calls an actual dictator a dictator, suddenly everyone draws the line? Get the f*ck out of here!

Mbappe and Lamine did not lose because of PR campaigns.
Secondly, Harry Kane did as much interviews as the aforementioned, the difference is that his name won’t generate clicks like them.
Let’s start with the interview he did with Owen Hargreaves on TNT, and in that interview, Hargreaves played voice notes of other players like Michael Owen wishing him well. This was a month ago and it didn’t generate up to 120k views, which buttresses my earlier point, watch here: youtu.be/JLwv_xIg5JI
Kane did another interview in August with Gazzetta dello Sport, he specifically even said the golden boot was great but he wanted the BDOR. He was even saying what more would he have to do? (Link here: gazzetta.it/en/football/cham…). On the red carpet tonight, that same phrase was repeated.
He did another interview with Marca in September, where he said the 73 goals speaks for itself, link here: marca.com/en/football/bundes…
He also did another interview with The Athletic. You can check that.
There were also little nuggets here and there from him across different interviews.
People like Fabrizio are known to farm. Mbappe could have done one interview where a journalist asks him questions, guess what, Fabrizio will break this small interview into several tweets.
To us, we’re saying Mbappe and Lamine are talking too much, but you won’t believe it’s just one interview Fabrizio has posted 25 times. I clocked it not long ago when I saw an interview myself.
Look at all these interviews I quoted, Fab could do that for Kane and generate as many headlines as possible, but maybe they won’t give him the number he’s looking for.
Again, Kane had as much interviews as the rest of them.
When Mbappé and Yamal started doing interviews and pushing PR campaigns, I had a feeling they might lose the Ballon d’Or. Harry Kane was wise enough to stay silent, humble and focused.
To every talented young footballer dreaming of winning the Ballon d’Or, my advice is simple: leave the Premier League, that league is too serious and will never allow you to express yourself. You can only come back as a superstar. Congratulations to Harry Kane once again.
