163 Halton schools. 96,876 students. Roughly 450,000 meals across the month, most of them handed out by students running the programs themselves.
Six schools were new this year. Ten more are ready to start.

At a lot of our schools, the programs are run by students.
They collect the bins, deliver them classroom to classroom, restock them throughout the day, and hand the routine to the next group when they graduate.

Halton Food for Thought started with parents.
In 1997, they noticed not every child had food in their lunch box and started six programs themselves.
Twenty-nine years later: 163 schools, 96,876 students a day.

Breakfast carts and snack bins are back in 163 schools across Halton. 96,876 students will walk past one today, and every one of them is welcome to take something.
