Cancelling Anthropic's contract is reasonable if you want to change the contract and they don't agree.
Blackballing them with every company that does business with the DOW means the downside risk of a first contract with the DOW is enormous.
As I have been saying repeatedly, this principle is entirely defensible, and this is the single best articulation of it anyone in the administration has made.
The way to enforce this principle is to publicly and proudly decline to do business with firms that don’t agree to those terms. Cancel Anthropic’s contract, and make it publicly clear why you did so.
Right now, though, USG’s policy response is to attempt to destroy Anthropic’s business, and this is a dire mistake for both practical and principled reasons.

In the coming weeks, we plan to start testing ads in ChatGPT free and Go tiers.
We’re sharing our principles early on how we’ll approach ads–guided by putting user trust and transparency first as we work to make AI accessible to everyone.
What matters most:
- Responses in ChatGPT will not be influenced by ads.
- Ads are always separate and clearly labeled.
- Your conversations are private from advertisers.
- Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers will not have ads.

IMO the most effective policy here is stronger e-verify enforcement + significant penalties for employers, so if Trump's not doing that he should be judged based on whether his chosen policy has fewer injuries/deaths/constitutional violations than that
