π¨ ARE WE STARTING TO SEE CRACKS IN THE AI BOOM π¨
Not gonna lie guys, I'm starting to become a little cautious with this AI trade. The amount of money being thrown around is absolutely insane.
Let's look at what's happening:
STOCK MARKET
Nasdaq 100 down 0.8% this week and now 7.3% below its recent high.
Worst two week decline since April 2025.
S&P 500 down 0.5%.
MONEY MOVING INTO SAFETY
Investors are buying US Treasuries.
10 year Treasury yield dropped below 5%.
Bond ETFs attracted around $58B this month, accounting for 38% of ETF inflows.
$META
Shares dropped over 9% this week.
Around $825B in future leases and contractual commitments.
Investors are starting to question whether all this AI spending will actually pay off.
ANTHROPIC
Reportedly could spend another $750B on computing power in the coming years.
That's an unbelievable amount of money.
CREDIT RISK
Corporate credit risk is also rising.
Investors are becoming increasingly nervous about all this AI spending.
JPMORGAN'S VIEW
The selling could be driven by risk models forcing investors to reduce their AI exposure.
Chipmakers account for roughly 20% of global equity risk capital.
Some of those overcrowded AI positions may already have been unwound.
NOT EVERYONE IS WORRIED
Scott Bessent doesn't see a systemic AI problem.
Blackstone's Jon Gray also doesn't believe we're in an AI bubble.
Look, I still believe AI is going to be massive over the next 5 to 10 years. That hasn't changed.
But just because AI is the future doesn't mean every company is worth what investors are paying today.
The real question is, who's actually going to make enough money to justify all this spending?
I'm starting to look for cracks in my own portfolio and questioning some of my investments. $NVDA, $AMZN, $GOOG to name a few.
I'm not bearish just yet, but I'm definitely becoming more cautious.

What's one stock your buying in this sell off?
I'm so tempted with $BE
Guys, is it just me or do you lot also feel like when someone unfollows you, you can NEVER figure out who it was on your following list?
Like, WHO ARE YOU?! SHOW YOURSELF!!
Anyone else have this problem or is it just me?
π¨ IRAN COULD TARGET UNDERSEA INTERNET CABLES
Reuters reports that Iran has prepared plans to attack undersea communication cables in the Gulf if the US and Israel launch fresh strikes.
Apparently, they could even prevent repairs to cause longer disruptions.
Peeps, this could get pretty ugly if tensions escalate.
EVEN GOLD IS GETTING HAMMERED NOW
Peeps, gold has just dropped below $4,000 an ounce.
And this is getting pretty interesting.
Here's what's happening:
Gold: $3,982 (-1.05%)
Brent Oil: $115.16
Middle East tensions pushing oil prices higher.
Higher oil prices = more inflation worries and potentially higher interest rates.
MUFG believes some investors are actually selling GOLD to cover losses in stocks and bonds.
And Pepperstone is warning that a proper break below $4,000 could trigger even more selling.
So we're seeing pressure on stocks, bonds and now gold.
Quite the messy market we're in right now.
Personally, I think there's a lot of forced selling going on, which could be making these moves even worse.
What do you lot think? Is this a buying opportunity for gold?
FEAR IS TAKING OVER WALL STREET
Peeps, the stock market is still sitting in EXTREME FEAR territory.
Here's where we stand:
Stock Market Fear & Greed Index: 20/100 - EXTREME FEAR
Crypto Fear & Greed Index: 50/100 - NEUTRAL
And it gets interesting:
6 out of 7 stock market indicators are flashing extreme fear.
More stocks are hitting 52-week lows than highs.
The VIX remains elevated, meaning investors are expecting more volatility.
Investors are buying puts to protect themselves against further downside.
Quite a lot of fear out there right now.
Personally, I think this could be creating some good buying opportunities, especially in quality companies that have been sold off heavily.
But remember, just because a stock has fallen doesn't mean it's cheap.
Do your own DD, check the fundamentals and manage your risk.
Are you buying this fear or sitting on cash for now? Or chilling?
Who has bought an apple duo already? Apparently, it's sold out. Surely there's one on my timeline has one.
I AM MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY EXHAUSTED WITH THIS MARKET.
Who else's is feeling like this?
F + G = 23 ATM π
WHEN WILL THIS END ?!?!
π¨π¨π¨ OIL IS SURGING AGAIN. THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR THE MARKETS π¨π¨π¨
Middle East tensions are pushing oil prices higher, and we're seeing bond yields climbing too. When will this ENDDD.
Here's where things stand:
WTI Oil: $101.62 (+$2)
Brent Oil: $115.05 (+1.66%)
S&P 500: -0.32%
Nasdaq 100: -0.21%
Meanwhile, US Treasury yields:
2 - year: 4.70%
10 - year: 4.99%
30 - year: 5.31%
This is something we really need to keep an eye on, peeps!!
Higher oil prices could push inflation back up, and rising bond yields could put even more pressure on growth stocks.
Not exactly what we want when the market is already having a tough time.
Risk manage, don't overleverage and keep some dry powder available.

LET'S GOOO!! π
$META PEEPS, THIS IS A PRETTY WILD ONE
Looks like Zuckerberg and Meta's board have finally reached a compromise over a new class of shares, but it wasn't all smooth sailing.
Here's what's interesting:
Meta wants the flexibility to fund AI investments, acquisitions and employee compensation.
Zuckerberg wants to protect his voting control, but the board pushed back against giving him unlimited protection.
Apparently, 3 directors even considered resigning. LOOL.
The compromise? Zuck agrees to stay in California for 8 years and gets some flexibility to sell shares without losing voting power.
Quite interesting really.
I'm all for founder led businesses, especially when they've delivered for shareholders, but there needs to be a balance between protecting the founder and other investors.
Zuck has earned the right though to do what he wants, imo but interesting.
HEDGE FUNDS ARE GETTING ABSOLUTELY HAMMERED
Just read a pretty crazy Reuters piece on this global selloff and wow.
On 22 October, for the first time since the COVID crash, all 3 major hedge fund strategies tracked by Goldman Sachs lost over 1% in a single day.
And it gets worse...
Tech focused hedge funds: down ~10% in October
Asia focused hedge funds: down ~9% in October
Meanwhile, data from Citadel and JPMorgan shows retail investors have been buying the dip in semiconductors, neoclouds and memory stocks.
Some of the most bought stocks? $NBIS, $SNDK and $TSM. Count me part of this cohort.
So we've got hedge funds reducing leverage and selling, whilst retail investors are buying.
Quite the contrast yet again.
I genuinely think a lot of this selling has become irrational. Hedge funds being forced to reduce their exposure could explain a big part of what we're seeing.
Doesn't mean every stock is cheap, but I don't think all this selling is necessarily down to company fundamentals either.
