🚨 URGENT ACTION NEEDED! 🚨
The FY27 President's Budget threatens nearly $2 billion in cuts to HIV programs — impacting prevention, housing, workforce development, care, and treatment. This isn't just a setback, it's a potential disaster for our communities.
These cuts would devastate the health of our communities and undo years of hard work toward ending the HIV epidemic. People living with HIV deserve better.
Don't let Congress move forward with this budget. Speak up now! Demand that Congress protect HIV funding at bit.ly/reject-trump-budget.

This is what real commitment looks like. Staying grounded in care even when funding is cut and the pressure to pull back is high.
People don’t stop using because support disappears. They just become more at risk.
Grateful for leaders who keep showing up anyway. ❤️
🧵NHRC's Executive Director Laura Guzman sat down w/ @theprogressive to discuss NHRC's steadfast commitment to people who use drugs, particularly when support for life-saving care is cut & further threatened regularly.

People who use drugs are at greater risk of acquiring hepatitis B and hepatitis C. This can be related to sharing drug use equipment as well as sexual activities. Integrating harm reduction services is essential to prevent hepatitis.

The vast majority of people held in jail are legally innocent. Many of them are there simply because they are too poor to make bail.
Does that look like a system built on justice?

Eleven years ago today, Eric Garner was killed by an NYPD officer who put him in a prohibited chokehold while arresting him.
His final words, “I can’t breathe,” became a rallying cry for the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
Today, we honor his life and send love to his family. 🙏🏾🤍
