Grade 4 students @hfcatholic are exploring equivalent fractions using a variety of visual representations (Mathies fraction strips, fraction tower and Cuisenaire Rods) to help develop an understanding of this concept.
Grade 4 students @hfcatholic are mining for coal (chocolate chips) to help learn how land can be impacted where coal is mined in science today.
Grade 4 students @hfcatholic used the "Walk the Line" lesson from the Fractions Pathway today to help them develop an understanding of fractions on a number line. Students shared that as the denominator gets larger the sections get smaller. We also explored equivalency.
