"I know exactly who he was, I know what his gift could do, and I know that we were all just a little happier, a little better off, for getting to hear the song...for as long as we did." @adamamin gives a touching tribute to his late partner, Stacey King ❤️

Nobody more entertaining than @gkittle46. Glad to hear he’s making his way back to Iowa City during the 49ers bye week, which coincides with Iowa-Wisconsin.

Why hasn’t there been a bigger deal made of this around town and sports talk radio? R.I.P.
🚨 #UPDATE: The Air Force airman who died after falling during a military rappelling demonstration at the Alamodome in San Antonio has been identified as Tech. Sgt. Ian Patterson. Patterson was a Tactical Air Control Party instructor assigned to the 6th Combat Training Squadron, Detachment 2, at Joint Base San Antonio. He served in the Air Force for 15 years and was named Air Force Special Warfare Enlisted Instructor of the Year in 2022. Patterson was one of four airmen scheduled to rappel from the Alamodome rafters to the field before the UTSA-Navy football game Saturday. During the demonstration, he lost control while descending, slid down the rope and landed hard on the field. Emergency crews rushed to help him before transporting him to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The incident delayed the game by approximately 10 minutes. “This tragedy is felt deeply across the 57th Wing,” said Brig. Gen. Scott C. Mills, the 57th Wing commander. Mills said the Air Force is focused on supporting Patterson’s family, loved ones and fellow Airmen. After the game, UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor described the incident as heartbreaking and tragic, saying the energy in the stadium had noticeably changed. “You could tell the energy was just gone,” Traylor said. “It just really puts things in perspective. It really does.” The incident remains under investigation. RIP.

It’s crazy that you can be @DaveandBusters surrounded by 30 TVs & still have to watch Game 4 #ALCS on your phone.

TakeYourShot22: CC22 Iowa GameDay Anthem 🖤💛 Cinematic Edition 🖤💛 *Nothing Special to See Here… Yeah, Right!* Caitlin Clark comes home. The Caitlin 1 makes its debut. ESPN College GameDay comes to Iowa City. And Hawkeye Nation shows the world what makes Iowa special. From black-and-gold pride and the excitement of GameDay to the unforgettable Iowa Wave at Kinnick Stadium, this original CC22 Iowa GameDay Anthem celebrates more than basketball, football, or a pair of shoes. It's about where you come from, the people who lift you up, and the little things that turn out to be the biggest things of all. *Why the Cinematic Edition?* After making the original Short, I came across the article “Dear WNBA: Caitlin Clark Would Never Say This, So We Will.” Reading it and the heartfelt letters from fans inspired me to make something more. Instead of writing another letter, I decided to make mine a song and a video. A letter to Iowa. To Hawkeye Nation. To the kids waving from the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. And to everyone who makes this place special. *Some things you carry. Some things you keep.* Thank you to the writers and community behind that article for the inspiration. And most of all... *THANK YOU, Caitlin Clark & IOWA . 🖤💛* 🌽 GO HAWKS! 🎵 Original music and video created by TakeYourShot22. Laura Corbett has spent 18 years as a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurse at our hospital, caring for babies and their families. Recently, she was surprised with the news that a NICU patient room had been named in her honor. uihc.org/childrens/news/nicu…
