Talking about stillbirth is the first step to prevention. When providers educate expectant parents on the risk and prevention, birth outcomes improve.

According to the @CDCgov, Black women are two times as likely as White women to experience stillbirth.

How can we better understand the causes of stillbirth? How can we improve care? How can we give families better answers and more tools to prevent loss?
Asking better questions leads to better research, better care, and, ultimately, better outcomes for moms and babies.
At the center of all of this data are thousands upon thousands of heartbroken families who are left with a lifetime of what-ifs.
Let’s prevent more families from wondering ‘what if?’ Start a conversation about stillbirth.
Our work doesn’t end when National Stillbirth Prevention & Awareness Day does. 💙
In honor of the tens of thousands of babies gone too soon, help us continue the work to prevent future loss.

Behind every stillbirth is a baby, a family, and a story that matters. This Stillbirth Awareness Day, we honor the babies lost and the families who love them.
CDC is continuing to work to better understand why stillbirth happens and what can be done to prevent it. We also provide information and resources to support families navigating a loss. #StillbirthPreventionDay
