Got a new orange strap for my @PaneraiOfficial submersible. One thing, among many, that I love about Panerai, you can give your watches a whole different personality.
The @operadeparis opens its 2026–27 programme with a gala evening, officially marking the start of its dance season. As Timepiece of the Paris Opera since 2014, we support its quest for excellence through our #PerpetualArts Initiative. More on.rolex.com/OperadeParis__

"Under Siege" was released on this day in 1992. Magnificent action movie from director Andrew Davis and screenwriter J. F. Lawton.
Highlights: Oscar-worthy production design by Bill Kenney; outstanding stunts by legendary coordinators Conrad Palmisano and Jeff Dashnaw.
"Under Siege" was an enormous box office success, grossing nearly 6 times its production budget. It was also critically well received, and nominated for two Academy Awards.
The greatest film of Steven Seagal's career is also one of the best DIE HARD clones of the decade. Aside from the spectacular action sequences, the film works so well because of the fantastic supporting performances by Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Busey.
Among my ten favorite films of 1992.

Some details deserve a closer look.
The Classics Index Small Seconds Automatic pairs a petrol-blue grained dial with a refined small seconds counter, powered by an automatic movement.

One of the best things about vintage watches is the Patina, you can't get the same look from modern watches.
That middle one is my favourite, the bezel has aged so well.

The Swatch x AP collab died down as fast as it blew up. All the hype around it being a watch got everyone talking and then when it was revealed as a pocket watch, no one really cared anymore.
Before it was even released, people were 'selling' the future product online for up to 10× the retail price, even after it was released it was selling for 3-5× retail, insane...
Now it's sort of been forgotten about, and I rarely hear about it anymore.
It's still 'decent' and does have AP on the dial, but as far as failures go, this is up there...
Failure rating: 7/10

The TAG Heuer Carrera Date strips the collection down to its essentials with a clean three-handed design and versatile 39mm case.
The black azurage dial keeps things understated with rhodium-plated hands and markers alongside a date display positioned at 6 o’clock. The finely brushed and polished steel case measures 11.5mm thick and is paired with a matching steel bracelet. The Carrera also has the everyday practicality to match its more refined appearance with 100 meters of water resistance.
The automatic Calibre 5 runs at 4 Hz and offers a 38-hour power reserve. It is visible through the sapphire caseback and keeps the overall package straightforward with hours, minutes, seconds, and date functionality.
There is a simplicity to this version of the Carrera that feels particularly well suited to the collection. It focuses on proportion, finishing, and everyday versatility rather than additional complications.
What do you think of the Carrera in this more straightforward three-handed configuration?

Rolex Submariner Date 41 in White Gold 'Blueberry' Ref. 126619LB
At a glance most people will just assume this is stainless steel, until they try it on and feel the weight.

A lot of people are hating on my rating, which is fair as it is subjective, but just for context this is what I base it on:
0/10 - No watches
1/10 - Watches but nothing good or of any value
2/10 - A watch collection with nothing standout
3/10 - Becoming more well rounded and a nice piece or two
4/10 - Almost there as a baseline collection, nice watches, well rounded
5/10 - Average watch collection, would be happy to have it
6/10 - Better than a lot of other collections, but not amazing just yet
7/10 - Entering amazing territory, standout pieces, has everything
8/10 - Incredible
9/10 - One of the best collections in the world
10/10 - What you should rate your own collection (The only opinion that matters)

Racing watches sit at the intersection of motorsports and watchmaking with everything from dashboard-inspired designs and tachymeter scales to chronographs built around the culture of speed.
This guide covers options across nearly every price point starting with accessible Mecha-Quartz and solar-powered pieces from independent brands like Vaer, Yema, Depancel, and Sunrex before moving into icons from TAG Heuer, Omega, Breitling, Tudor, Rolex, and more.
Automotive partnerships are a major part of the category too with watches tied to names like Porsche, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, AMG, and Alpine F1. At the very top end, the list stretches into serious high horology from Roger Dubuis and Richard Mille.

There are guys all over the interwebs selling Putters For $400 plus that have their Putters made in China for $45 and the workers live in squalor in tiny dorm rooms on company campuses. If you’re looking for a bargain, go talk to those guys.
We mill and hand finish our putters in Dallas. And we drink Coors banquet.

The more watches I see, the more I appreciate proportions.
40mm vs 42mm doesn't sound like a huge difference on paper.
On the wrist, it can completely change how a watch feels.
Sometimes the difference between “I like this” and “I love this” is just a few millimetres.

What does “70-hour power reserve” actually mean?
It simply means that, when fully wound, the movement can theoretically keep running for around 70 hours without being wound again.
So if you take the watch off Friday evening, a 70-hour movement could still be running Monday morning.
It's one of those specifications that sounds complicated but is actually pretty simple.
