We are at the #KTASymposium, and we've got you covered. Find us at th Digital Security Desk, where we are running a hands-on digital security clinic. Please come with all your digital devices for an accurate diagnosis. Bring your device. Pull up a chair. Our team will help you secure your accounts, set up two-factor authentication, tighten privacy settings, spot phishing attempts and protect sensitive data and sources. Online threats do not wait for a workshop invitation, so your protection should not either. Walk in with questions, walk out safer. Your data is worth defending. So are you. #DigitalSecurity #DigitalRights #InternetFreedomAfrica

Someone sends you a threatening or abusive message. Your first instinct might be: BLOCK! 🚫 And yes, blocking can help. But before you do, if it is safe, take a screenshot first. Save the username, link, message, date and time. Keep the evidence somewhere safe, then report the account. You never know when that evidence might be useful. #MyDigitalRightsUG #EndTFGBVUG

Women and girls face harassment, threats, cyberstalking, sexual abuse, impersonation, doxxing, non-consensual sharing of intimate images and other forms of gender-based violence online. The consequences can go far beyond the digital space. Online abuse can affect a woman's mental wellbeing, reputation, livelihood and willingness to participate in public conversations. In 2019, ACFODE dedicated an edition of its Arise magazine to online violence against women, recognising the growing risks women face in digital spaces. Today, the platforms may have changed, but the need for safer and more inclusive digital spaces remains. We can all play a part: protect your accounts, document abuse, report harmful content, support survivors and challenge behaviour that normalises violence against women online. Women should not have to choose between having a voice and being safe. #EndOnlineViolence #SafeDigitalSpaces #WomenOnline #ACFODE

Taking a screenshot when you experience TFGBV can be crucial. It gives you evidence that may be useful if you decide to report the abuse or seek justice. Before you block, make sure you have captured the necessary information because the person may delete the content, deactivate their account or change their username. #MyDigitalRightsUG #EndTFGBVUG
