🚨💰Dynamic loot in the name of dynamic pricing. Exhibit 1: Flight from Bengaluru to Lucknow. November 15. Flight starts from ₹20,875/- per passenger. Exhibit 2: Flight from Lucknow to Bengaluru. November 15. Flight starts from ₹8384/- per passenger. If rising fuel prices is the reason for increase in air fare, then why the air fare of the Bengaluru-Lucknow flight is 2.5x more than Lucknow-Bengaluru? It’s the same distance! This is not “dynamic pricing”. This is DYNAMIC LOOT. It’s so sad that a lot of us can’t AFFORD to be with our families on Diwali.

We spend one third of our lives at workplace. It's okay to talk a little, have some fun and make friends! (If you're finishing your responsibilities in time)
A bunch of young girls sitting in the office, discussing clothes and jewellery. I’m this close to walking over and reminding them that they’re at work, not a kitty party. And no, it’s not about talking, nor is it about discussing clothes or jewellery. It’s about understanding that there’s a time and place for everything, and knowing how to conduct yourself accordingly. I get that there’s a festive vibe in the office, but it’s still an office. It’s this lack of situational awareness that frustrates me. Do what you like, talk about what you like, but have the basic sense to know when and where. And then we wonder why women in professional spaces are sometimes taken less seriously. 🙄

✨ Learning to write in public Day 7 ✨ This is mystical woo woo stuff But it keeps me grounded. So, I used to feel dejected when I'd try 5 different ideas and formats and nothing stuck I'd open the analytics everyday, hoping atleast one took off Until I had an epiphany Maybe it's not working out.. Because the universe only wants those posts to work out for me..that I can replicate. One time VIRALITY or growth only makes you feel more dejected down the line What if.. the virality will come but for a format or a process that I can replicate And I just have to try enough to reach that. This made me make sense of the slump more. Writing online is 30% writing and 70% being okay with few impressions even when you know you did good. Will see you tomorrow Cheers!

I feel so privileged after reading this. Privileged to have a job, home, food, water, everything I could ask for. But also privileged to be on this side of the internet, to be curious and learn new things, to be optimistic that I will surf the new AI era, and to have 5 different hustle ideas in my brain. And no, I am not saying that I DID THAT. It was the result of opportunities, my environment, my social media feeds, and the people I have been friends with and worked with. For all of that, I am grateful and incredibly privileged.
This hacker news thread is absolutely heart-breaking. Whoever thinks “humans will find a way” ought I read it.

✨ Learning to write in public ✨ Day 6 - Don't mention the emotion. Make them arrive to it, feel it, sense it through words Instead of saying "She is heartbroken after the breakup" Say.. "She still makes two cups of coffee in the morning" That's heartbreaking right? You conveyed she is heartbroken but you also broke our hearts a little by imagining that. That's the soul of your words. AI could never.

I have a friend whose stress tolerance absolutely marvels me, 100% a psychopath because no normal person could tolerate that much stress and not completely crumble, handles it all with charisma and swagger too, truly exceptional and definitely someone to look up to in that regard, I once asked him if there's any mental models he employs to just keep pushing through and he looked me dead in the eyes and said "When I see a storm, I just know I will ride that storm to the end, I am the storm rider"

✨ Learning to write in Public ✨ Day 5 - Don't become a victim of your perfection I was learning new stuff everyday yet I didn't post this series Because I didn't have a big enough lesson And today it hit me... Who decided the post format? Who decided if what I have wasn't enough? Me Prisoner of my own mind and perfection. So today's writing lesson is, it's ok to have one small thing to share. It doesn't have to be a thesis, something groundbreaking It can be as simple as this post which is ironically about why I didn't post! Will be back tomorrow with one more lesson This time... I promise.

The "First, something bad" took me out.
opus 5.5 just deleted my database always thought something like this would never happen to me luckily it was only my dev database, but it also had access to production just a reminder how important database backups are, especially now that we're letting ai agents do more and more things on their own i can totally see this happening to a lot of people be careful out there guys

Looks like you guys are liking this counting down from 100 approach. I built a quick app where you can do this for your toughest habits. It's called 100 shots. Let's go! 100shots.finereli.com

Found that if I'm bad at something and want to get good at it (coding, writing, working out) it helps to start at 100 and count backwards. I expect to have 100 bad attempts. So the first attempt is 100, the second is 99, the third is 98. Seems to rewire my expectations, reduce frustration and allow me to practice in peace.

We don't realize what a privilege books are. Someone spent years failing, figuring it out, getting it wrong. And you get all those lessons served to you.. Right in your living room. It is someone's years, compressed into your hours. So magical.
