For commercial uses, you arent buying art. You are buying rights. The more commercial use you want, the more rights you will need. The artist sells their lifeblood to you, of course its expensive. Its not about what it is, but what its used for.

The heartbreaking part is that the left image is literally how drawing starts. Blocking out ideas like that is a common strategy to art. They’re so close to creating what’s in their head themselves but instant results culture has normalized skipping the part where people fall in love with the journey of creating.
