Zitadel Nextgen is no longer event-sourced, but events are not going away.
Relational tables hold the current state. Wide events provide the context needed for auditing, security, and integrations.
Why we changed the architecture:

15,000 GitHub stars! ⭐
A huge thank you to everyone who has starred ZITADEL, contributed code, reported issues, shared feedback, or supported the project.
We couldn’t have reached this milestone without our open-source community. 🧡

AI agents need to register themselves. Now they can do that with ZITADEL.
We’ve added OAuth 2.0 Dynamic Client Registration, enabling clients such as Claude Desktop and other MCP clients to register as OIDC applications at runtime.

#UserSchemas #IAM
We just shipped user schemas for the next Zitadel. 🚀
Your user model is a JSON Schema file in your repo now, not a fixed shape we hand you. Add fields, add schemas for machines and agents. Preview with `plan`, publish with `apply`.

The recording from our community event on the next iteration of Zitadel is live: one-command login demo with passkeys under a minute, the vision behind it, and the Q&A that followed.

Yesterday Claude needed to check something on my machine, and it just did. Read the file, ran the command, moved on. I didn't think about it.
That's what got my attention. Not that anything went wrong. That I've stopped noticing what I'm handing over.
2/ I work in identity and security. If a colleague described a system where access gets granted because "it's usually fine," I'd tell them that's not a policy, that's a hope.
3/ Built a 2-minute self-check to actually answer it for my own setup: what can your agent reach right now, does that access expire, could you cut it off in one move.

Curious if anyone else has caught themselves doing thi
1/ AI is everywhere right now, and of course I had to try it myself. Everyone's talking about agents replacing engineers, so I asked Claude to set up auth in a Next.js app, completely on its own.
We've been working on something😃
The HackingLab Day "intern" stole the show! 👶✨
First talk back from maternity leave for @Zitadel. Husband was organizing, I was speaking, and the baby was bringing the laughs.
The juggle is real, but it’s great to see it’s possible.
How do you handle the family/work juggle? 👇

It has been a while since I checked the @github trending repos report, but out of sheer interest I took a look today and it brought me a lot of joy to see @zitadel back on the daily Go list.
Building an open-source IdP means being buried in OIDC/SAML specs, dealing with multi-tenant data isolation, and optimizing for security, usability and reliability. It's plumbing that only gets noticed when it breaks😆
Thanks to the community for all the help and input, this truly helps us grow.
