📍#hiphopstandards — Glasses Malone as the Gen Z-era KRS-One on cultural legislation: Glasses Malone is doing the work KRS-One did: legislating what the culture actually is instead of letting the product rewrite the definition. In the debate with Bigz, the line was clear: hip-hop is not Black culture, and not every rapper is hip-hop. Black culture is broader. Rap is a skill. Hip-hop is the culture that formed around specific practices in the Bronx. Conflating the two is how the term gets rented by anyone who can make a 16-bar verse and then demand the culture treat them as stewards. The founding conversation still has to account for who was actually in the room. Kool Herc was Jamaican. The sound-system approach he brought shaped the party. Latino breakers and graffiti writers were central to the early elements — breaking and writing were not side notes. The culture was Black-led in the Bronx, but it was not a closed Black-only invention from day one. Pretending Latinos and Jamaicans were late arrivals or visitors is rewriting the archive. The date Glasses referenced is the one the culture has treated as the birth of the movement: August 11, 1973, Kool Herc’s party at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue. That is when the practices started to coalesce under one name. Everything after that — commercialization, the collapse of “rap” into “hip-hop,” the claim that any Black person who raps is automatically of the culture — is downstream of that origin. It does not redefine the origin. This is the legislation. Rappers are not automatically hip-hop. Black culture is not hip-hop. The elements, the people who built them (including Latinos and Jamaicans at the front), and the standard of living the practice are what the term still means. Streaming volume and demographic ownership claims do not rewrite the history or the rules. @gmalone is holding the same job KRS held: drawing the line when the product and the platforms try to expand the definition until it means nothing. That is the #hiphopstandards position. 🚨

Msziya speaking on the alleged incident at Akademiks’ house: “I look crazy right now, but I’m not gonna stand here and let this man continue to lie about me. Akademiks, you know that. That’s not what happened. You were on top of me too… and a kit was done. This what you wanted? You’re about to get it. I’ve been quiet for way too long.” The clip is circulating again while other past claims are being brought back up. She directly challenges his version of events on camera.

Grateful to report that after @sneako retained me to expose and rebut the lies and deep fakes being spread about him, @AkademiksTV did the right thing and deleted both posts targeting my client on the same day. I always appreciate when people do the right thing when they are put on notice that the information they are spreading is false. I urge everyone to always verify before they post - because while both posts have been deleted, they received millions of views prior. We cannot contribute to a world where false information is spread to millions and causes damage. It’s important people verify authenticity of what they post before they post it. Nonetheless on a personal level I always appreciate when people end up doing the right thing and delete the false posts to stop the spread of misinformation I’m not the kind of guy that likes to ask “how about them apples” and rub in a victory. However I felt it important to show that the second post was also deleted below so people understand that it was deleted because it had false defamatory attacks against my client. And it is ok and shows maturity when someone who posts false information to does right thing and delete it. That is more respectable than the alternative. Otherwise those who dig their heals in and continue to spread false information after put on notice could be found to recklessly engaging in defamation. This was the notice that caused the post to be removed: teapawt.org/hassanshibly/status/21…

FORMAL NOTICE ON BEHALF OF SNEAKO As @Sneako’s attorney, I categorically deny these outrageous and entirely false allegations on his behalf. Ten anonymous accusers. Zero publicly presented verifiable evidence. No disclosed corroboration. This is character assassination masquerading as journalism. We already placed you on notice regarding your publication of a fabricated image falsely depicting @Sneako kissing another man. That image originated from an actual Kick livestream showing two individuals simply walking and talking. Your subsequent removal of the Kick livestream logo obscured an obvious means of verifying the original footage and raises serious questions about your intent and journalistic integrity. Some of the other photo/video content you have referenced also includes deepfake AI content. Now, you are amplifying another sensational and unsubstantiated allegation targeting the same individual. Taken together, this pattern raises serious concerns about whether you are deliberately attempting to damage my client’s reputation rather than responsibly report the truth. The First Amendment provides substantial protection for reporting allegations, but it does not grant blanket immunity for knowingly or recklessly publishing defamatory falsehoods. You are hereby expressly placed on notice that my client denies these allegations as categorically false. Any continued publication or republication made with knowledge of falsity or reckless disregard for the truth may expose you to legal action. My client expressly reserves all rights and remedies. Finally, having a legal right to publish something does not make it morally defensible. Destroying someone’s reputation through sensational, uncorroborated accusations is reckless, cruel, and beneath basic standards of journalistic integrity. Do better.

DRAKE GETS SLAMMED: “Nah dog coming out too cool man” KG
⚫️KG sings a Drake lyric in a mocking tone (the overlay marks it “SINGING DRAKE”). Matt Barnes then asks, in the context of locker-room energy: “Gives up a 20 point lead?” KG’s response frames it as after-the-game music: “That’s after your boy. In the lounge.” The graphic on the clip is “MORE DMX, LESS DRAKE IN THE LOCKERROOM.” Drake’s music is positioned as post-battle / lounge pop music. It is not framed as the music that keeps a team locked in when the score is tight or when they need grit to protect a lead. Drake has a place and that’s after the game.🚨 #hiphopstandards

Cole reworked The Fall-Off because Kendrick was already on it. That’s the culture applying pressure, not just a feature conflict.
J. Cole said Kendrick’s “Like That” put him in a weird position because Dot was already on The Fall-Off. He had to rework the album while figuring out how to respond without fully responding, and he thought he was done with the project — retired and uninspired in his mind. That’s not just beef logistics. That’s the culture applying pressure. Hip-hop still has a standard that says you can’t fully opt out of the conversation when the conversation is about the culture itself. Cole’s position shows the difference between rap as product and hip-hop as practice: when the peer check lands, the work has to move with it. You don’t get to treat the album as finished inventory while the standard is being debated in public. The “respond without responding, still try to save face” part is the tell. In commercial lanes, you can ignore the noise and let the playlist math carry you. In the tradition Cole and Kendrick operate in, the peer response still has weight because the culture still treats authenticity and accountability as part of the craft, not optional branding. This is why the distinction between “rap records” and hip-hop still matters. One can treat a feature as a marketing asset. The other treats the culture as something that can force you to reopen the work. Hits don’t rewrite the standard. The standard still rewrites the work when the culture decides the conversation isn’t over. #hiphopstandards

If Coach DeBoer had this roster, they would blame the roster. If Nick Saban had this roster, they would say we need better recruits. If Curt Cignetti had this roster, they would say let’s see what happens when he gets bigger NIL money. However, with Coach Prime, it’s terrible coaching and the players not responding, as if Kirby Smart could win 10 games with Colorado. Coach Prime’s seat is cold. I’m sorry, but the relevance of anti-Sanders fans and media haters is unequivocally invalidated. teapawt.org/davonmille22997/status…

Watson went silent the second the conversation left the Billboard charts and entered real hip-hop metrics. Pop numbers? He was talking. Streaming records? Talking. Global domination? Talking. Then the question flipped to pure hip-hop elements — cultural weight, bars that move the streets, impact as a rapper instead of a pop product — and the room got quiet. That silence said more than any playlist placement ever could. This is the exact moment the culture keeps trying to ignore: When you strip away the commercial metrics, a lot of these “legends” suddenly have nothing left to stand on. Full heated exchange 👇 KEY2THESTREET JOURNAL Street report. No filter. No corporate spin. #Drake #HipHop #RealTalk teapawt.org/40urty/status/21130036…
