Markets still give the Fed only about a 15% chance of hiking on 28 October. If those costs reach shoppers, the Fed will be under pressure to hike again.

Midweek check on Sunday’s tripwires. Bitcoin trades at $83,479, against a Friday close of $82,650. US spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $549.9 million on Monday and Tuesday. Brent sits near $110 after topping $111 on Tuesday. Solana’s Alpenglow switch is due around 14:00 UTC today. Meta, Tesla and IBM report after the close. Four of six tripwires are clear so far. Two stay open: Brent and tonight’s AI earnings.
