This Women's Health Month, we're proud to share expert insight from Dr. Jennifer Doe, Medical Director of Breast Imaging at @HoustonMedImage.
"Your risk of developing breast cancer depends on both genetic and environmental factors. Having first-degree relatives with breast cancer may increase your risk. Environmental and hormonal factors, including estrogen exposure, can also play a role. That's why annual screening mammograms are so crucial for women's health."
According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected early and localized, the five-year survival rate is 99%. Screening is one of the most powerful steps women can take to protect their long-term health. Thank you, Dr. Doe, for your dedication to patient education and women's health.

A new analysis published in The Lancet Oncology projects global breast cancer cases could rise from 2.3 million annually today to more than 3.5 million by 2050, reinforcing the growing importance of early detection and access to screening.
While outcomes continue to improve in regions with established screening programs, timely diagnosis remains one of the most important factors in reducing mortality. At RadNet, initiatives such as our Enhanced Breast Cancer Detection (EBCD) program combine advanced imaging and AI-supported technology to help identify cancer earlier, when treatment options are most effective.
Expanding awareness, access, and participation in breast cancer screening will remain critical as the global burden of disease continues to grow.

Heart disease has been the leading cause of death in the United States since 1921 with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) being the most common form. Yet when detected early, CAD can be effectively treated and managed for life, and in some patients even reversed.
Because plaque buildup often progresses silently, symptoms may not appear until the disease is advanced however even patients with mild CAD are at an increased risk for a heart attack. That’s why early detection plays such a critical role in improving outcomes.
In this video, Dr. Michael Coords, Medical Director of Cardiac Imaging at RadNet West, shares his clinical journey and explains how advanced cardiac imaging can help identify disease earlier, and why collaboration across healthcare is essential to saving lives.

The largest real-world analysis of AI-powered breast cancer screening in US history is out today. Published in Nature Health, the study shows how the AI-powered workflow at the heart of RadNet’s Enhanced Breast Cancer Detection™ program is enabling an astounding leap forward in breast cancer detection.
radnet.com/about-radnet/news…
This workflow, enabled by applications within DeepHealth’s Breast Suite (including AI-powered Safeguard Review), led to a 21.6% increase in cancer detection for nearly 580,000 women across 109 community-based breast cancer screening sites at RadNet.
“Beyond the remarkable results, what sets this research apart is its scale, diversity, and real-world applicability,” said Dr. Howard Berger, President and Chief Executive Officer of RadNet.
Congratulations to everyone who worked on this landmark study demonstrating the effectiveness and impact of AI-powered breast cancer detection workflow. At RadNet, we’re making earlier, more accurate diagnoses possible every day, advancing imaging through innovation and technology.

Heart disease is still the leading cause of death for both women and men, but early detection can save lives.
A quick, noninvasive, painless coronary artery calcium score test can detect calcified plaque buildup before symptoms start. In this video, RadNet team-member Stephanie Landon shares her experience as Dr. Michael Coords walks us through how this test is performed and how results can help guide lifestyle changes and treatment decisions.
