Atlanta is a cycling city. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Atlanta City Council is weighing a proposal to follow in the footsteps of places like Denver, Boston and Rhode Island by offering city residents rebates for e-bikes. ajc.com/news/atlanta-eyes-su…

@AtlantaBeltline can we please start making the count data public and add some of those counters that show how many pass each day / year like other popular trails
Just say you hate all new development and the general populace of the City these days
Sure; my 2 eyes when I commute on it daily. Guess I’ll record a commute ride next week and we can count

A little known section of Georgia law allowing employees 2 hours off to vote. Even during early voting. A great explanation from my friend @bptyson on how it should be implemented and employer’s role.

They’re not even hiding their plans to interfere in the midterms. We must be too big to rig.

Atlanta is on pace to clear $4 Billion!
$2.25 billion for capital alone & an additional $1.85 billion for O&M…
That’s A LOT for O&M for ZERO RAIL and effectively a bunch of bus routes operating where we have numerous existing bus routes (& thus less O&M funding needed). 👀
Letter to Editor: Atlanta’s 1 percent fiercely opposes Beltline rail. Why? atlanta.urbanize.city/post/l…

@HowEPhil Beltline John posted a drone photo of the rebuilt stairs from Grant St up to the Southside Trail. Have to go to Instagram to hear the Led Zeppelin sound track though

Even half of this would be a boon to other North American cities, such as Atlanta.
Hell, make the first floor retail, then 10 units above đź‘€
This is Vancouver's very first proposal to build a low-rise, multi-unit residential building on a small single-family lot under the new single-staircase building rules.
A 6-storey, wood-frame building with 24 family-sized units. #vanre #vanpoli

This is without basic good things like more seating in the station, shoppes behind the gates, or street reconnection. It doesn't add riders or new routes.
Don't use More MARTA money non-expansion projects. That's for general fund and new grants.
Want Atlanta Parks & Rec to build and maintain more trails & greenspaces???
Tell them you want it on their open survey before it closes in a week!
Took me 5 mins- do it now!

ATLANTA, WHEN?!?!
Gave you $4 Billion
This is the SECOND major transit project to break ground in Los Angeles this week.
First: the East San Fernando Valley light-rail line.
Now: the 12.4-mile Vermont Avenue BRT
• 12.4 miles of BRT
• Dedicated bus lanes
• Connections to the B, D, E and C Lines
• Trips up to 24% faster
• Upgraded service for 38,000 daily riders
@metrolosangeles hopes to finish the Vermont Corridor before the 2028 Olympics.
No American city is doing more for transit that Los Angeles

Atlanta Beltline Northwest Trail bridge from Blandtown over the rail line towards Howell Mill, the Waterworks side bridge pier concrete is finished, so everything looks ready for a crane putting the bridge segment on top starting in November.

Atlanta Howell Mill Complete Street is getting a median for the southbound turn lane on to 17th St. The road south of 17th St has preparations for another median. They have not yet paved the Howell Mill sidewalk at the crossing over to 17th St which will hopefully improve safety.

Our schedules finally lined up so we went on a very important date! What’s your voting plan?
I maintain this corner would be a killer spot for local retail (& homes on top)
1 block off the Beltline.
Centrally located in the neighborhood.
High volume bike route.
Fairly dense compared with other intown neighborhoods of Atlanta.
Years of permitting & planning, but only takes a few weeks to add two stories of homes for neighbors.
Sure, takes longer than to put finishing touches, but goes to show we should be expediting FASTER as what’s needed to BUILD doesn’t take nearly as long.

@ClydeHiggs your job is to fight for Beltline projects and secure funding. Why are you not vying for ANY DOLLARS for Beltline Rail from the $4 Billion fund that is already approved?
Beltline also has ~$1 billion in FY budgets through 2030, yet still no transit.
All eyes on you.
The Beltline chief tells City Council that extending the Beltline Tax Allocation District (TAD) is the only way to pay for rail on the loop, that federal $ is unlikely, & raising the Special Service District prop tax "would get you all voted out"
