1. The gov has already sold out to the gas industry.
2. The remainder is a fight between gas companies - Santos vs Origin-Shell.
3. Watch for SA Labor MPs pushing for Santos.
Thread on these points.

Australia Institute research shows that a 25% tax on gas exports would increase supply and cut energy bills for Australians.
“[A 25% tax] would also provide $17 billion annually,” said Mark Ogge, Principal Advisor at The Australia Institute.

Calling all citizen scientists 🦜, next week is your chance to get out in nature and take part in this year’s Aussie Bird Count.
Running from 20-26 October, the count gathers crucial data on our country’s unique bird species, tracking which birds are thriving and which may be under threat.
In Australia, government investment in the monitoring of both threatened and common bird species has many big gaps, making the data that is collected by citizens extra valuable for scientists and conservation programs.

If you want to reduce the carbon footprint of your diet, less meat is nearly always better than sustainable meat.

ALT A graph comparing the greenhouse gas emissions of various protein-rich foods, measured in kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalents (kgCO2 eq) per 100 grams of protein. The chart features colorful curves representing different food items, with the height of each curve indicating the level of emissions associated with its production. The bottom line is that plant-based protein sources still have a lower footprint than the lowest-impact meat products. Slow Sunday? Perfect time to pop into your local cinema and sink into something beautiful.
Ocean, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, is a stunning reminder of why our blue planet is worth protecting – and a great way to celebrate his 99th birthday!
We couldn't agree more with these words from one of the world's most inspirational conservationists: "After a lifetime of exploring our planet, I remain convinced that the more people enjoy and understand the natural world, the greater our hope of saving it and ourselves becomes"
