Buckner makes sense. Colts are not contenders & need to rebuild + he is 32.
Nelson less so, but he is also 30, needs to be re-signed & likely not contending next couple seasons when he will be on the decline. Assuming he even would want to stay.

That means activating Hemby full time also though, so would mean another player dropped regardless.
Biggest mistake Spy has made was taking Jeanty over Booker. Build in the trenches first.

4. Tyler Booker, DAL (88.0)

Imagine giving those picks up and then having to Franchise Tag him, leaving him disgruntled because he wants to leave to go to a contending team. Its the type of risk a contender like Seahawks can make, not a rebuilding team. Colts could also have not wanted him in the AFC.

Absolutely! Trenches are so damn important! But going after guys on the wrong side of 30, especially Buckner is not the right way. Nelson would have been a nice grab & didn't cost a lot, but with an expiring contact I would think he would have had some say where he wanted to go.

I think this year is about winning the games you should wij most importantly, which I think Jets should be one of those.

Franchise Tagging vets who want to leave & go to a contender is not the way you build a team.

Another East Coast trip. If this week isnt a win, I think the pressure to play Mendoza will grow significantly.

I was thinking 7-8 wins. I think the 3 game easy stretch gave too many of us false hope before the tough stretch kicked in!

Would Nelson want to sign a new deal with Raiders at this stage of his career though? He probably wants to go to a team that is seriously contending for a SB this year.

Downs is so similar to Tucker though.
Go get Warren & replicate the 13 Offense McVay runs with Bowers, Mayer & Warren!

I think we all agree with that! Hard to stay patient when it is the same rinse & repeat for so long. Optimism is finely on the right path with a young hot name offensive minded coach.
Player needs to be on board also. Nelson could have forced his hand & said he would only re-sign for a contending team.

ST value still. I could see them look at another poisiton to cut, but also hard to keep 7 WR.

Yes absolutely! But easier to plug & play guys on established playoff teams. At the end of the day I think Spy is more likely to be a seller than a buyer at this stage in the trade market.

There will always be random upsets, any given Sunday! But injuries or not, the depth of talent on those teams vs Raiders currently is night & day. Raiders have starters, but not much beyond that.
Replying to @TestingRNG
Raiders have battled with injuries at WR, an already bottom tier group, during this time also. And the good teams have depth, which is why they are where they are. Look at 49ers. A lot harder for team that is still trying to build out their roster.
