Always good to pass on the opportunities and support that I have received in my research journey!

Last year I was deployed and received a message asking me to assist an incredible Doctor in his research.
Today, I am proud to share that I’m now published as an academic author for the first time. Research is a powerful tool for change, and contributing to work that strengthens Defence leadership and healthcare practice is a milestone I’m honoured to reach.
A huge thank you to Hugo for bringing me into this vital project. His commitment to meaningful research and his confidence in my contribution made this achievement possible.
(I’m now off to try and print it so I can frame it!)

Thrilled to get our project on the (lack of) consensus for supervision coding in general surgery over the line and published. Started in 2022 with @RosieSimson , took 4 journals, lots of redrafting and finally accepted in July last year, now online publishing.rcseng.ac.uk/epri…

We are working hard to understand the state of Colonoscopy training for Colorectal trainees.
Key findings from Colonoscopy training survey:
‼️only 30% of trainees have a dedicated training list
🆘 29% may have to extend CCT to achieve Colonoscopy numbers
Barriers to training👇
⬆️service provision
⬇️ lack of dedicated training lists
⬇️ access to training lists due to other HCP/trainees
Complete results to follow soon!
We are working closely with stakeholders to improve training in colonoscopy by identifying long term, sustainable solutions to barriers to training.

'High fidelity' doesn't mean better. Here a lower physical fidelity model is absolutely achieving the learning outcomes of stoma formation. 💪💪

I love it when a member of our team gets their first journal publication!
Well done @RuthGuest5 for this work done on deployment last yr. It highlights challenges of fem hygiene in austere environments. Already changed logistics & planning for ops/exs.

Such an interesting article to research and write looking at an operating list from 1985 at a Military Hospital in Nepal. 20 cases covering 11 different specialties all with one surgeon and anaesthetist! That is 'General' Surgery.
