There is only one thing left for Europe to do to give Ukraine a chance at winning this war, which is being fought on behalf of every democracy worldwide: unfreeze Russian sovereign funds, being safeguarded in Belgium, and find practical ways to use that money to arm and support Ukraine.
Currently, Europe is not even providing adequate defensive resources, let alone those needed to launch a decisive attack against Moscow.
Its leaders continue to look for a comfortable middle ground between waging war and preserving business as usual.
European impotence is even more dangerous today because it takes place against the backdrop of America’s absence.
This administration cannot be counted on (regardless of what happens in the upcoming midterms); it is thoroughly corrupt, immoral, and perhaps even compromised.
Elections coming up in 2027 in several countries only threaten to tip Europe out of its current state of rudderless ambivalence into complete desertion of Ukraine.
