Payward, the parent company of Kraken, announced its intention to be the first CFTC-regulated deployer on HIP-3* markets. Payward will use Hyperliquid as the infrastructure layer to deploy perpetual futures markets for US clients. Subject to regulatory approval, Bitnomial, Payward’s CFTC-regulated DCM and DCO, would act as the HIP-3* deployer: creating, owning, and administering the markets and clearing and settling the contracts. If approved, NinjaTrader Clearing, Payward’s CFTC-registered FCM, would carry client accounts. HIP-3 will support optional deployer configuration for permissioned markets in a future network upgrade. This set of additional deployer functionality is collectively called HIP-3*. At its core, HIP-3* activation involves an onchain allowlist managed by the deployer or its sub-deployers. The functionality is strictly additive to HIP-3; its use is optional and up to the deployer. Existing markets remain unchanged. The initial release is available on testnet, where specifications are preliminary and subject to change based on feedback. Hyperliquid is a neutral infrastructure layer with the goal of supporting large parts of the financial system. HIP-3* gives deployers additional functionality to operate deployments consistent with the requirements applicable to them. As with HIP-3, HIP-3* deployers are independent operators who use Hyperliquid as the onchain infrastructure layer for their own markets, while retaining control and responsibility over their deployment.

Thank you to everyone who traveled near and far to make it to Monday's community event. Multiple members of the ecosystem hosted their own events to celebrate Hyperliquid and the community throughout the week. Thank you to every organizer for the hard work and dedication behind each one. The builder booths were a highlight for many. To everyone building on Hyperliquid: thank you for bringing more of finance onchain and spreading the word. Since last year, even more builders, users, and institutions have contributed to the ecosystem's growth. Hyperliquid's vision is to be infrastructure to house all finance, and every year, that vision becomes more of a reality.

Hyperliquid CEO: Wall Street’s Wealth Creation Model Is Broken Hyperliquid CEO Jeff Yan says Wall Street’s wealth creation model is unsustainable. The problem is simple: retail investors often enter only after an asset has already captured its biggest gains. Jeff Yan argues that @HyperliquidX is built to change this by making financial markets more accessible, rather than keeping the most valuable opportunities behind traditional market structures. Perpetuals are a key part of that vision. No expiration dates. Less liquidity fragmentation. 24/7 trading. Global access. And the traction is already there. Hyperliquid generated ~$72M in revenue over the past 30 days, ranking among the top protocols in crypto. If on-chain markets can make more assets tradable earlier and around the clock, Hyperliquid could be more than a crypto exchange. It could be a new model for accessing financial markets.

The @CFTC just took an important step toward adopting a federal rulebook for crypto market structure: the Commission proposed rules for exchanges that let Americans trade crypto with leverage, including a new type of CFTC registration that is fit for purpose. An exchange’s regulatory path would follow its product set: (1) state licensing for spot trading, backstopped by the CFTC's anti-fraud and anti-manipulation authority; (2) CFTC registration for leverage under rules written for crypto; and (3) the existing DCM framework for perps and other derivatives. Builders shipping code onchain, and the Americans using it, would know where they stand under federal law. Separately, the CFTC is working directly with builders to develop lawful pathways for onchain markets in the United States, and is drafting a policy so that developers who publish software but do not take orders, control execution, or hold customer assets would not have to register as brokers. Thank you to @ChairmanSelig and the CFTC staff for the effort behind today's proposal and for putting onchain markets on the agenda.

Bloomberg Just Put Hyperliquid on the Institutional Map Bloomberg's @TheTerminal now lets users type WSL HYPE <GO> to monitor select Hyperliquid perpetuals 24/7 across crypto, equities, commodities, FX, and indexes. No execution yet. But the bigger impact is institutional distribution. Desks can now compare @HyperliquidX prices with Bloomberg references like BTC, NVDA, S&P 500, Brent and EURUSD without leaving their existing workflow. Why it matters: • More visibility → institutions can easily discover and monitor Hyperliquid markets • More credibility → Hyperliquid becomes a recognizable price source alongside traditional markets • Stronger ecosystem → reinforces the thesis of 24/7 on-chain markets across global assets Bloomberg isn't bringing institutional capital to Hyperliquid overnight. But it puts Hyperliquid where institutions already look for prices. That is an important step toward making on-chain markets part of the institutional workflow.

Trailing stops are now available for perp markets. A trailing stop's trigger price follows the mark price as it moves in favor of the position. When the mark price retraces from its best level by the selected distance or percentage, it triggers a market order. For long positions, the trigger price follows the highest mark price reached since activation; for short positions, it follows the lowest. An optional activation price determines when tracking begins. Without one, tracking begins immediately at the current mark price.

Kraken’s Parent Company Is Bringing U.S. Perps to Hyperliquid .@krakenfx parent company Payward is bringing on-chain perpetual futures to U.S. customers through @HyperliquidX. The important part isn’t just Kraken entering on-chain perps. It’s that Hyperliquid is becoming the infrastructure where a registered U.S. exchange and clearinghouse can deploy a market. The setup: • Payward provides access to U.S. customers • @Bitnomial deploys and clears the HIP-3 market • NinjaTrader Clearing hosts customer accounts • Hyperliquid provides the on-chain perpetuals infrastructure Payward says this will be the first registered U.S. exchange and clearinghouse to deploy a market on Hyperliquid. That makes HIP-3 particularly interesting. Hyperliquid is no longer only competing with CEXs for crypto-native traders. Its infrastructure is starting to connect with regulated U.S. market participants. If this model scales, Hyperliquid could become more than a place to trade perps. It could become the on-chain market infrastructure layer for regulated derivatives.

Hyperliquid is Taking a Different Approach to Surviving the Crypto Bear Market Instead of relying on hype or inflationary incentives, it is building a “burn & earn” model where platform activity directly supports $HYPE. Trading fees flow into the Assistance Fund, which uses them to buy $HYPE from the market and remove it from supply, while staking gives holders additional utility through network security and trading-fee benefits. That creates a simple but powerful loop: More trading activity → more revenue → more HYPE buybacks → stronger value accrual. I think this matters because @HyperliquidX is effectively making HYPE’s tokenomics dependent on the growth of the platform, rather than simply depending on a bull market to create demand. Burns alone don't guarantee deflation, since emissions and unlocks can still add supply. But if Hyperliquid continues capturing perp, spot and new market activity, growing protocol revenue can increasingly offset that dilution. That makes HYPE interesting beyond the usual exchange-token narrative. Hyperliquid is turning its trading business into a mechanism for token value accrual. If this flywheel continues working through a bear market, “real revenue → buyback → supply reduction” could become a much stronger DeFi tokenomic model for the next cycle.

🚨 hyperliquid:native holder distribution is shifting toward whales The number of wallets holding ≥10K hyperliquid:native surged 21.1%, while wallets holding ≥100K hyperliquid:native increased 18.6%. Meanwhile, smaller holder cohorts are shrinking: • ≥10 hyperliquid:native: -5.4% • ≥100 hyperliquid:native: -6.3% • ≥1K hyperliquid:native: -0.2% This divergence suggests a shift in HYPE ownership toward larger holders, with whale and high-balance wallets expanding while retail-sized wallets decline. If the trend continues, whales and big hands could increasingly concentrate HYPE's holder base.
