@MedCrisis Hi Rohin, would love to see you do a video on your thoughts on the tech bro biohackers using continuous glucose monitors (in non-diabetics).
Seems like it may have a huge risk of false positive findings eg. transient hyperglycemia that then gets interpreted as pre-DM
@Medcrisis
I wore one myself for a little out of interest and was shock by the extent of the nocebo effect of seeing low BGLs (when I felt a bit hungry I would check my BGL & see it was <4mmol/L & then feel even more hungry!)

Symptoms that change a patient's whole world can be 'just another day with a patient with x' for a #doctor. It takes #reflections for doctors to remember that their 'everyday' is a unique experience for each patient; and to acknowledge the impact on each individual #patient.

ALT Black text on a white background saying: Ever felt that your doctor wasn't really listening to you? Ever left a healthcare consultation feeling as if your symptoms had been dismissed? Women often feel unheard and these communication breakdowns between women and their doctors can lead to missed, delayed or incorrect diagnoses. At the heart of this issue is "a misalignment in how doctors and patients may view symptoms," according to Dr Mary Dahm, a linguist at the ANU Institute for Communication in Health Care.

This is what happens when management covers its failings by weaponising a “well-being” narrative. Gratitude ponchos. Reminds me of kindergarten. Which it probably intends. Honestly, if I was facing surgery with a doctor in a gratitude poncho I would run. How did it come to this?

I say something like “here are the options, here are the pros and cons, but if you’d like my recommendation, it’s X, for these reasons”
In spite of how it might seem online, most pts don’t see us passive means to an end, but sources of expertise. That’s what we should provide.

“Sick enough to die” is a near-perfect phrase for this kind of scenario. I picked it up on Twitter and use it regularly now: it works brilliantly.
