Funny thing is, the people who don't care about privacy are the ones who'll need it most.

China is seeking to claim $5.1 Billion in seized Bitcoin held in the UK, potentially bringing it under Chinese control.
China has opened its own court case to take back 61,896 BTC, worth about $5.1B, that the UK seized from convicted fraudster Zhimin Qian.
• Prosecutors say Qian sold fake "guaranteed return" investment products in China from 2014 to 2017. They say she raised about 40B yuan and left more than 102,000 investors with roughly 20B yuan in losses.
• She fled China in 2017 with her Bitcoin wallets and ended up in the UK. She was arrested in 2024 and sentenced in November 2025 to 11 years and 8 months.
Why it matters: This is one of the largest single Bitcoin stashes held by any government.
