My #CovenAcademy spoiler-free thoughts: If you love the shows from the days of CW/WB yore, this is it. Think #SecretCircle, #Charmed. It’s darker and edgier than anything you have seen from #Disney. The tone is perfect, the cinematography is gorgeous, the lore is interesting and the characters are all so unique and different. Every actor takes a few episodes to settle in to their characters, but once they do, they fly. There is no getting around that the mini episode size hurts the storytelling (21 episodes, most at 12-17 min long). And that is a bummer, because the world this show is building, is AWESOME. There’s female-focused friendship at the forefront, not to mention a really well-executed love triangle that intros two VERY good, but extremely different, options. The #Team discourse is about to go crazy. Despite the episode length issue — which bleeds into the pacing, etc — the show is a blast, and I hope it takes off. The staying power and potential is endless. Perfect #Halloween binge, too. (Oh, and @DevonESawa has still got it! He’s truly so good in this.)
