Ed Carson retweeted
Thomas Sowell: “I have never understood why it is ‘greed’ to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else's money.”
Bernie Sanders: “Greed is not good. Love and compassion is good. Empathy is good. Billionaires who have more money than they can spend in a thousand lifetimes say I need more and more and more and I don’t care what happens to ordinary people. We have got to take that on full steam ahead”

Republicans had a weak hand heading into the midterms. But the party has had some truly awful messaging in the closing weeks.
Q: Amy Acton's stepfather was indicted for rape. Now that you know all that, sir, do you change your mind about the ad? Trump: No. I don't care

Having an affair is unbearably selfish. I would never and will not ever cheat. I know it's quite normalized today, but it's really repugnant in every sense of the word. We dismiss it too casually.

If (when?) the Dems take full control of Congress, @SenWarren will become even more influential than she already is. Her understanding of economics, regulation, and commerce is vibe-based and wrong in almost every particular.
In 1986, the US had 25,000 malls. In 2023, it had just 1,200. @ewarren says private equity caused bankruptcies of mall-based businesses like @claires. Despite shocking economic ignorance, @SenWarren will be even more powerful after the midterms. reason.com/2026/10/19/be-pre…

Fact check: True
Trump: “We were a dumb, stupid country led by a very, very stupid person a year ago.” Fun fact: Donald Trump was president a year ago. 😂🔥

Europe is paying an enormous price for slashing Russian energy imports. Ofc., Europe should have never allowed itself to be so vulnerable.
CHART OF THE DAY: The price of natural gas in the US 🇺🇸 and Europe 🇪🇺. Now, imagine running a gas-intensive company (say, a fertilizer plant) in either region. Europe >$30; US <$3

I don't know, guys, the writers this season are really overdoing it with the heavy-handed symbolism. Come on.

The Trump presidency is an unprecedented victory for socialism. Not only for what it's doing, but because the Republican party can't object on ideological grounds. Paves that road to socialism, w/o good intentions.
Of course, of course: "Trump turned the government into an investor. Democrats have shopping plans, too." semafor.com/article/10/21/20… "We’re through the looking glass" "The sky’s the limit" "The Trump administration has opened up Pandora’s box"

Almost makes one question the merits of advocating for illiberal strongman leadership.
Wait, he really did say that. It's on the video. I dunno, this is about as cruel at that vile Vivek Ramaswamy ad. How ... I mean, what the hell are you thinking, telling sick vets that you'll withhold money from them if people don't vote for your party?!

Hmm, maybe my home state of Oregon - with no sales tax - will be good place to return for retirement. Sure, the kids can't read or write, but what do I care?

All true, and I will add this: Simply not letting Russia seize Ukraine (or create a puppet regime) is hugely important. Ukraine's tech/industrial know-how and battle-hardened army with bayonets pointing west would be a monumental threat to Europe (esp. the Baltics).

If you feel absolutely compelled to suck up to Putin, I guess you can talk about how "strong" he is. This is repulsive.
Witkoff to Putin: “You talk so much about my president, President Trump, being a humanitarian — you are a humanitarian also, sir, and I salute that.”

I recently dropped my Netflix subscription but plan to go in for short-term bursts. Looking forward to Netflix joining rivals in giving cheap 2-month intro offers.
The more I look at Netflix results last night, the worse it gets. $NFLX Revenue growth: 11.8%, guided to 11.5%, following two price hikes in 14 months. Premium is $26.99, up 50% since 2021. Q1's +83% net income growth was a $2.8B Warner Bros. payout. Q3's +44% was partly "expense timing." US churn rose 16.6% YoY in Q3 (Apptopia). Downloads in the US and Canada fell 20%. Higher prices, worse content, political agenda's, worse app, UI/UX re-design moves away from the core model... This isn't organic growth. They are squeezing their customers.

Task-specific robots are far superior to general purpose humanoid robots in a factory or warehouse setting.
Interesting bit on humanoid robots via JPMorgan report from 2026 China International Industry Fair:

Two wrongs are both right.
BREAKING: Stephen Miller and Jared Kushner are reportedly blaming each other for the GOP's midterm meltdown, with Miller calling the Iran War "Jared's folly," and Kushner pointing out that Republicans were gaining Hispanic voters until Miller turned ICE into a "US Gestapo."

We're going to need an investigation. Nobody is taking responsibility, while all sides have obvious reasons to point fingers elsewhere.
