It’s been an awesome offseason working with these guys, Elite QBs and Elite humans @MartinezTheQB @ColePayton9
Two NFL quarterbacks from rival NFC organizations, training alongside each other with training camps set to open in a few days? It’s not something you expect to see. Especially in Omaha. How and why? ⬇️

Great, simple🧵 on VBT @MattRheaPhD. If you have a firm understanding of Ex Phys and training terminology, this is not a difficult concept to understand 🤷‍♂️. Power is necessary to initiate movement against heavy loads & strength is necessary for ⬆️ expression of power via RFD 🎤
To all those suggesting that VBT will decrease strength…. First, VBT stands for “velocity-based training”. It involves ALL velocities, not just fast speeds. It involves a process where we prescribe a speed versus a % of 1RM.

"Mental toughness" = Resilience/'Grit' = Psychological contrsuct Conditioning = Energy Systems specific training = Physiological construct The 2 concepts are very different. Glad to see @AdamArchuleta using his platform to bring practical awareness to this age old debate 👏🤝
Why does endurance low intensity "conditioning" always have to be equated with mental toughness training? Personally, I don't think conditioning work like this is a very efficient at building mental toughness at all. I guess like most things, I have a different definition of what conditioning and mental toughness are than most. I'm just not a believer in training my body to be more efficient at moving slower and less powerfully.

Nothing better than seeing someone put in the work and reap the rewards. Congratulations @BraylenwarrenQB 🥲 this was earned!
Our family is beyond proud of this kid! It hasn’t been easy, lots of people and lots of writers that undervalued him, doubted the talent. We knew what it was and we always told him the work matters, and it will show up on the biggest stage. Good work B! #BrickbyBrick @BraylenwarrenQB ELITE 11 @warrenacademy Made. 🙌🏾

This is not even remotely the intended purpose of micro-dosed programming. Micro-dosing should be used when traditional means of training aren't possible such as complications due to travel and competition in-season or during deployment for active military personnel.
Microdosing training in the off-season? The field is now conquered by the lazy.

Strength & Conditioning has seen an uptick of "scientism" for years. Maybe I'm being sensitive, but the trend has turned into Seminars, Conferences and Social Media being loaded with coaches sharing/presenting on other peoples research rather than sharing what their programs actually implement. Sharing research is important, but sharing how you actually implement it is even more so. We've collected tons of data which is a good thing and absolutely has a place in guiding programming decisions, but the world isn't perfect and people aren't math problems. Understand that being a moron won't help you, but you don't need to be a Fields Medalist to be a great strength coach. Develop your own opinions on technical mastery and attention to detail. Understand the importance of commitment, consistency and leading by example. Create your own blueprint on long term athlete health, durability and structural balance. Be a TEACHER and help your athletes learn and value the "why" behind what they're doing. Cultivate "buy in" thru holistic lenses. The brain is the most important muscle in performance. Lets celebrate cultivating training environments full of athletes with mindsets of discipline, dedication and laser focus coupled with strength coaches who pragmatically attack programming thru holistic mindsets. Then if you choose to share, please share what you're actually doing.
